Hah, I actually have one unopened 4 liter; wasn't sure how much I'd need doing both coolant circuits. Plus another about half full. In 5 years I'll use it up.

I'm essential so I go to work and home:).

But maxed out the PTO so now I get to work around the house for a respite from essential activities(y).

Didn't realize the 3.5 k mile road trip would only lead to a socially distanced encounter;).

But your outdoor gathering spot seems good:).

But I think I've got you beat with our backyard addition(y).

I might shatter, lol. Getting a little cooler here, currently +2C, too chilly for me.

    Which impossible is that?

The improbable I do three times before lunch. The impossible may take a day or two.

So...after a full tank, that number has whittled down a BUNCH. 1.2mpg gain is still a gain, tho. From 40.5 to 41.7, approaching the end of my first full tank.

Could be different driving conditions too. I'm not sure EGR/Intake cleaning will improve mpg. Maybe a bit, a spin-off benefit. The main thing is to be running cooler combustion chamber, and cleaner. The latter more so once an effective oil catch can is in.

Yeah, I kind of figured that the EGR/Intake weren't to blame for the better gas mileage. And driving conditions have changed little in the weeks before/after.

I figured on it being the new plugs installed. The old ones were looking rather...tired. I wouldn't be surprised if they were the original plugs.

For when I get a round tuit, is there any recommendation for which Oil Catch Can is best? Which do folks default to? Even the "Oil Catch Can, stop that knock!" thread goes on for pages without actually coming out & saying "this one's the best one"...that I could see.

Or do I just drop back & punt...and get a mason jar?

I went with the Moroso 85474, admittedly mostly because it looked cool, and was available. Price is getting up there. Did come across this:

Now I’ve got two Morosos in series...

This is considered a good one because of the sintered bronze filter many don't have and a large volume you do not get in the cheap versions. Also a bottom drain that could be fitted with a valve and drain hose. No catch can will capture enough to do much good in an oil burning engine, especially the 2010-2014 models. Plus, if you are not religious about emptying it, you might as well let the standard Toyota catch can do it. The one called the intake manifold. 0A42FC6D-2775-4E56-BA52-3BA2BA5E8F95.jpeg

Got a link for that? All that came thru is a picture.

    Man, they're proud of that thing! I'm seeing a price-tag around $150.

Pricey but less than the sales tax on a head gasket job by your friendly dealer, assuming the "die is not cast".
