Yes, after many, many hours of dealing with the Toyota dealerships and directly with Toyota Corp, and after many unfulfilled promises, neither did a single thing for us except waste our time. Oh, they also wasted many quarts of oil and gallons of gasoline from all the driving we had to do back and forth to the dealerships.

Our Prius will probably be our last Toyota ever.

It's sad that after owning so many Toyotas for decades, how their customer service and support is now meaningless and just a huge waste of time.

Maybe your expectations are a bit too high.
NO auto maker is under any moral or legal obligation to keep a vehicle running like new after 10 years and/or a LOT of miles.
They just aren't......and they won't, except by offering you something like a rebuilt engine, which you will pay for.

Not sure about you but I’m jumping ship to Honda’s for my next vehicle. Owned 2 Toyotas prior to my current vehicle, this one convinced me to do so.

Is the 2021 Toyota Prius a good car?

The Prius has been a good car for a long time, but the market shift to crossovers and automakers’ ability to offer hybrid crossovers with much greater cargo and passenger volume has marginalized the Prius. It earns the moniker “appliance car” for its pokey but efficient performance and for its geometric style. Still, impressive standard safety and convenience features, as well as a roomy cockpit, earn it a place at the compact table with a TCC Rating of 5.5 out of 10.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. The problem is that we Toyota owners have become accustom to an extraordinarily high level of quality/longevity/reliability. Excluding vehicles that have been severely neglected, measurable oil consumption in any Toyota engine at any mileage is simply unheard of. The same is true with head gasket problems.

The inverter and ABS issues are completely different in my book. Those are problems with electronics in new technology. I'm not happy about it, but I can see how it happens.

Sadly, I think all the manufacturers are drifting in the same direction, cutting corners, and leaving the phone of the hook.

You’re spot on, we all just expect a lot from a brand like Toyota.

I think what makes it even more disappointing is an issue like the inverter on the gen3, is the gen2 never had any widespread inverter problems. It wasn’t till they downsized it, AND ran more current through it in the 2010+ had issues.

Also the headgasket on the 1.8 is a bummer!

but again it’s not Toyota’s responsibility to keep these running after 200k+ like we’d all like :)

    Agree 100%.

And not just manufacturers but retailers and service companies too.

It is hard to find ANYBODY these days that really knows their trade......and really knows what good customer service means.

Sometimes it's hard to find anybody with a pulse: I was recently trying to contact our bank, by phone, good luck with getting past the "virtual assistant". Maybe 4th time around I found a phrase that got me to a human being. Of course all they could tell me was that I was SOL, but hey: I got to hear it from a live body...
