    Hi Everyone,
I have a 2010 and recently took it in for a safety recall notice 3 weeks ago regarding the issue where the vehicle may lose power and stall. I think this recall went back to October of last year, so yeah, it took me a while. lol.
Anyways, I immediately got about 8 MPH less than before. No matter what I do, I can't get more than 37 MPG. And, the car is very sluggish and down on power.
Anyone else? Is there a thread I should know about?

*Sorry if this is a duplicate thread. I searched for this before posting but wasn't able to find what I was looking for.

I’ve had the recall completed and didn’t notice too much of a difference... until the hot weather. If I use the A/C I can expect a huge decline in fuel mileage. Instead of 50MPG w/out A/C, I can only average 40 MPG if I’m lucky. Before, while using the A/C, I expected a 3-4 MPG drop in fuel mileage. Now it’s just unacceptable.

What recall they have done? did they re-flash your ECU( check the paper work they gave me). do you experience longer ICE mode (Engine run longer) from you point you to start up your engine (Even it weather temperature 85F or more?

What's the group thinking on this -- avoid the recall?

If you take the vehicle to a Toyota dealership for service, can you specify for them not to do the recall work or would they not service the car at that point?

I guess they ask to sign paper work and drive on your own risk and can't sue Toyota.

The problem with these “ Safety Recalls” is, most states will not renew your registration until the recall has been done and recorded. Otherwise, I would have never had it done.

My 2010 is exhibiting the MPG loss of about 5-6 mpg down from Avg of 45. I have not had the latest recall performed in fact I have avoided taking it to a dealer becasue I do not trust them. I just had spark replaced at 160K and have not seen improvement. Maf sensor was checked. What should I look at next. I hire someone who does this as a side hustle to dsave money. I saw on youtube the erg pipe should be cleaned. as well. I should have had my mechainc do that when he was changing plugs

Just to be clear, that's saying that whatever is causing your recent reduced mileage observations, it won't have been the topic of this thread?

If you have your mechanic clean the EGR, please report back on the price that he charged.
