When you're parked at home, but not out-and-about. Do both?

Personally I just maintain full insurance with low deductable, till the car goes to the scrap yard. Appreciate that's not necessarily the most rational approach, but maybe in light of the Cat thefts, doubly so in California and sim States?

I’m in the UK and bought a cover plate to protect the CAT but had to have it removed due to noise, not sure if it was caused by vibration or wind noise as it disrupted air flow but it was unbearable when you're used to a quiet car. All the bolts holding it were tight so I gave up on the idea. I plan to clear out my garage so I can put the car in there instead to avoid the risk of leaving it on the drive.

I agree with deterrent. I am not thinking about cars but other areas, and when deterrent is suggested, the oft times response is "...if they really want to do it, then a deterrent does not help" .but it might cut it back 90% in some cases.

Mendel, you’re right mine only works the 90%of the time I’m parking at night at home.
I did see they had a model with an SD card so it operated without wifi.
I imagine I’d set it on the dash and plug it in to the 12volt power going to the visor mirror or the reading lamps

    iPhone ?

Those plates can vibrate (pop up and down like an "oil can") if you install them completely flat- mine had instructions to temporarily put a wood block between the plate and exhaust so that it would force a bow into the plate when fastened in place.
