Private Sale of 2006 Prius Package 7.

I'm selling my Black 2006 Prius with 243,900 well cared for (and maintained) miles, I've had all the regularly scheduled maintenance done (spreadsheet and receipts go with the car) since I bought it used from a dealer in January 2014. It had 92,000 when I bought it. It has been garage kept since the day I brought it home. It has been my to and from work Daily Driver for 7 years. Reason I'm selling is I found a 4th gen 2012 with 81K miles on it and now it is my new to me Daily Driver.

    It has:

    Grey Leather Interior
    Leather Steering Wheel
    Factory Navigation
Factory JBL 9 Speaker Audio System
Factory Aux Mini Jack in the Center Console
Factory 6 Disc In Dash JBL Stereo
    HID Headlights
    Factory Fog lights
    Factory Back-Up Camera
    Factory Smart-Key System
Factory Home Link Rear View Mirror
    Factory Tire Pressure Monitor System
Factory Leather holder with Full Set of Manuals
    Husky Liners Front and Rear
Tinted Windows with Strip on the Windshield
New Hybrid Battery Installed by Toyota in June 2014
New 12 Volt Battery April 2014
New Water Pump December 2018 207k miles
New GoodYear Viva 3 Tires at 224k miles
I have a file folder full of receipts and a spreadsheet full of Dates and Mileage of the care maintenance if the car.

I have owned of four (and currently own three) these Prii and have become familiar with them and what it takes to maintain them. It does use about a quart of oil every 1500 miles.

If you have questions please don't hesitate to ask.

I've included 31 pictures (and the PDF from Toyota to include the VIN information) of the car but if you would like to see something in particular please ask.

    Asking $5200 OBO

Always helps to put that in the description.

Wish I had the time and room for a project car....especially since I within driving distance!
    GOOD LUCK with the sale!

243900 actually minus 92000 when you bought it =151900 miles drive in 7 years, new hybrid battery was installed same year you bought the car only 5 months after the initial 92k, probably car was about 103k when hybrid battery was installed so 243900- 103000= 140,900 miles on you new old hybrid battery but the old hybrid battery was replaced at 103k only, do you know you 2014 hybrid battery can fail at any second, $5200 with all respect it’s unrealistic with the rest of the car 243900 and lastly but not less package 7 doesn’t do any better for the price, outdated navigation and cracked leather seats don’t help more than cloth seats in excellent condition and waze app on the phone with update navigation.

An interesting thing about setting a price on a ForSaleByOwner car. You can sure as heck negoiate with a buyer about a drop in price. I don't think I've ever heard of a seller being being able to negotiate a higher price. Nothing wrong with starting a bit on the upper end, especially if you have time and are trying to get the max $$ out of it.

Interesting you point of view but I don’t like to low ball a seller and I will not negotiate a insane starting price, am pretty sure that amount of money can negotiate something better, not saying Prius is a bad car just saying a younger Prius will be better to negotiate with that amount of money in mind.

High mileage G3's might be younger, and they're definitely more powerful, more efficient, and more fun to drive....BUT.....you're taking a chance that a "dealer maintained" G3 with >150,000 miles is about to start making milkshakes in its oil sump.

The OP's value might be a little high, but it's defendable by way of a relatively clean interior, and a spreadsheet with docs.
It DOES have lunar mileage, and it IS 15 years old but KBB says the car is worth about $4500, in Walton County FL. (a guess, based on the GPS) and thus I do not think that the value is obscenely high.

    Note to OP:
I'm not a believer that the market price for Obscurium, Promethium, Dilithium or any of the other rare elements that are present in the G2's catalytic converter by the pound are driving real-world prices over $1,000 for these units.

However (comma!!) there ARE threads in this very forum where people claim to have profited by selling their catalytic converters and getting a $150 Non-OEM replacement.

    ....just food for thought. ;)

You taking a chance with any use car, the higher the miles on the car the higher is the chance, this is the reason car buyers get the car with the lowest miles they can afford.
Dependable a car with a original engine transmission with 243900k and a 141k hybrid battery should be something of concern a clean interior but with tears and cracks on old leather it doesn’t look better than a nice condition cloth seat.
Docs are nice to have but a good analysis of the car by a knowledge buyer or mechanic can tell if the car it’s good or need anything to be repaired.
Will you buy it for that price? If not how much will you have to negotiate the price to buy it?
maybe parting out the car selling it for parts can produce more money since who want a 1/4 million miles car 15 years old for 1/4 of the price of a new one, sorry am talking to much but little to much time available at the moment lol.

I have a gen 2 with 169k not for sale but if someone offer me $3500 can have it, I maintained my self since I bought it, I don’t trust nobody with my cars I have very bad experience with mechanics they charge for jobs they don’t perform etc, if something come that I can’t handle it mechanic wise then I will get rid of the car, but nothing I can’t handle haven’t happen that’s why I still have this car.
