Looks kinda like a Japanese Kei truck. I would not try taking 200 miles range truck to desolate woods for camping, but I like the full-size bed.

I like the idea of a utilitarian electric truck. Overall pitch for this one seems okay.

I'm pretty skeptical of the gimmicky step, tailgate and stowage stuff though. I mean it's a truck. Those things are going to get bent such that they can't retract, or snapped off by somebody cluelessly overloading it.

We could have had those specific things on our trucks for the past 60 years, but we didn't because they break off and cost too much to repair. (directly familiar with side gates on VW Type 2)

I'd expect it to look and act a lot more plain in production trim.

Looks like the later year, VW microbus. Put a camper back and VW can continue their decade long redesign effort.

I’d like to see some interior pics, dash in particular. Maybe not developed yet.

    Reinvented the (steering) wheel. :(

Yeah, stark/odd dash; seems mandatory these days. (n)

Expected initial delivery around 2023 if pre-ordered. Big car still trying to gauge adoption time frame like dotgov and concerned scientists.

As long as you can work all the controls with heavy work gloves on...

Like that pickup that Dodge offered years ago that was basically a cut up van.

I like the look of this thing much better than the Cyber Truck. Steering wheel is a non-starter but that would definitely change. I also like that when your drink spills you can watch it run around the dash.

The A pillars look really good for visibility.

All the Canoo's have a big open space before the front seats.

The subscription model will likely be this truck's toughest selling point.

I could actually see that working out for fleet sales, though it's pretty much the antithesis of what the homeowner truck buyer would want.

Yet, you can actually buy their delivery van.

looks like the MPDV (not the pickup) is estimated to start around 33k for the 40KwH pack 90-115 mile range and smaller cargo area. I can't find anything on the bigger cargo area / 80KwH pack 230 mi estimated range MPDV
$100 gets a place in line today.

Max 1,800# payload? That's a bit on the light side. And what's the range when fully loaded? I'm sure that won't be anywhere near the 200.

my hope is this doesn't start a big argument by either side ! ie: ya know the scientific stuff ....
Not knowing what the Tesla 25k specs might look like near release, if $100 would get me in line today
even though I'd have to get approval from my CFO for the final transaction, which would undoubtedly come with nasty (in my opinion) concessions attached, and I'm currently insolvent ATM, would be almost a no-brainier for me. Economics be damned.
    wishful thinking - ya know?

I saw 2 on the road while driving the prime last week, probably 3's but I can't tell the diff these days, they pass by me (at my pace) pretty fast..

All pickup trucks are inherently ugly because they are half car, half trailer, welded together.
