Yeah, with discount and rebate being a fixed amount, LE always gives better value than higher-priced trims. The trade-in is the biggest catch 22. A dealer may give a $2K more discount on a new car, but give $3K less on the trade-in.

You can sign up for Uber. It could take a couple days to weeks to become active depending on what state you're in. Also, try getting quotes from Carmax, Carvana, Vroom, etc to see the actual trade in price. Sell it to the highest offer.

I also purchased my LE from Culver City Toyota. The final price before California or federal tax rebates was ~$21,850.

Also, keep in mind the Prius Prime is no longer eligible for the California rebate after April 6:

CVRP Eligible Vehicles | Clean Vehicle Rebate Project

Also, individuals can only receive one credit. If you've received a rebate since December 3, 2019, you cannot get another one.

just in case you didn’t know: there’s no spare tire, just a compressor with goop.

as far as I know it’s only the higher levels with fake leather steering wheel that are peeling?

All trims of Prius Prime including the base LE (or Plus in pre-2019 models) come with the same Softex (pleather) wrapped steering wheel. You are correct in that the higher two trims, XLE and Ltd (Premium and Advanced in pre-2019) are with Softex seats. Although the report of peeling Softex cover on Advanced trim is seen more frequently, which I suspect is related to the steering wheel heater, there have been a few reports of the same peeling steering wheel problem on lower trims as well.

Better make sure to get the front windows nano ceramic tinted. It will not peel. Mine hasn't yet not even faded. She sits in the sun every freaking day. Had it since 2019 and got her for 30,345. So a year and half no peel. 2020 limited

Not nessarily...I would get a true price quote x carmax quote and go from their. Primes are hella cheap right now and it's not worth buying one used. You can get one for the same price new. Maybe 1000 more. Fyi

Not sure what you are referring to. My comment is on new PP prices and I'm just saying to watch out for the trade-in value if that is the part of the new car purchase.

In saying get a trade in quote form. Multiple dealers like TrueCar provides. Who ever offers the most makes for your used car makes it a no brainer. You can also just sell your car yourself through cargurus for a couple grand under and sell it that way if it's paid off anyways.

Yeah, it's a good idea to know the fair market value of the car you are trading in before you start negotiating with a dealer. But even equipped with this knowledge, a dealer always tries to cheap down the trade in to squeeze more profit for them. It is rare for a dealer around me to match the KBB average trade-in value. In our state and many others, unlike CA, the trade-in car lowers the sales tax on the new car purchased in the deal if done at the time of new car purchase. This makes it very difficult and often less profitable to sell a car on your own.

Super illegal in California. Are you going to get pulled over for it? Probably not if it's a really light tint and you can't tell right away. If you've never been cited for window tint before it's only a "fix it" ticket, but if you've already been cited before it requires a court appearance and the penalties can be more severe.

That's the whole point. Don't know where you live but every other car is tinted dark in the front. However I just did a 35% front with nano ceramic. Kills all the heat and no uv rays. Ya you can still see inside 80-90 percent. I didn't want to to dark of front tint where it was obvious neither. Might I add I drive almost 4,000 miles a month for the last almost 6 years. Haven't got pulled over yet. I've always put tint in front. Usually ceramic. It's lighter and hard to tell that it's actually tinted unless the sun hits it just right. Creates a nice reflection and not a dark hue pigmented color...

My experience has been that it's usually only a secondary offense, meaning the cops use it as a justification to pull over a "suspicious" vehicle so they can get a closer look to see if there's any probable cause to search the car, or it's an "add on" after getting pulled over for something else and you irritated the cop.

Well they can't just pull you over for tinted windows. There has to be probable cause. I have camera in front and back of my car 24hr recording. Not to mention if I really wanted to, I could easily got to hospital administrator and get some paperwork to make it official to have legal tinted front windows. But again never had this problem. Have had friends that do, however it's really dark and usually a fast rice rocket of some sort. Which in that respect your asking for it.. LoL

    And always wear sunglasses?

no offense, but with my age and vision issues, I pass on aftermarket stuck-on tints.

    definitely a user preference thing.

And of course for Prius Prime, even if it is legal and desirable, the front windshield tint has to be repeated every time you have to replace the windshield, which could be more often than you projected when you tinted the first time.
