Hybrid Battery Replacements San Diego

    Well Well Well,

    Prius fans it's time to change my 2010 Toyota Prius' hybrid battery. The OG battery last me 189,412 miles and just recently I've gotten the lights of death. Any recommendations on who I should go to by chance? Thinking about GreenBeanBattery since they have a lifetime warranty on their batteries which cost around $1650. There is the dealership around me saying 3500-4000 but I have no idea how their warranty works.

    warranty on a new oem battery is only a few years, but doesn't matter since they last a long time as you witnessed on your first.
    warranty with green bean or other aftermarket rebuilders is important since they fail so often.

    i would buy a new battery for $1,600. and look for a mech to install it, or shop around dealers for the best price.
    otoh, at almost 200k, how much more do you want to put into it?

    GreenBeanBattery rebuild old broken down hybrid batteries that will last from 3 months to 3 years. They don't sell new ones. Whereas some dealerships will sell you a brand pack that will go more than a decade without issues for same price. Or you can get NewPriusBatteries for similar price, or for a higher price you can have way more sustained power for mountain climbing via: Toyota hybrid battery upgrade pack; NexPower Energy

    In your shoes I’d sell it as is and disclose the info then buy another car. At 198k miles, a new battery will out last the ICE and once ICE goes bad, the money for the new battery and engine swap will add up to another car.
