    1. I cleaned EGR and replaced head gasket then I started the car it ran great for like 2 minutes ( this tells me mechanically no issues) then it started to knock and a bad smell like sulfer or something rotton very strange I have never smelled a car like that even the worst diesel. ( I know its not the EGR circuit or the head gasket)
2.A miss fire is one thing but what the heck is the knocking what is hitting what the sounds so horrible, can it eventually damage something? ( can someone explain this please?)
3.possible issues A. one coil is arcing (got new one on the way) B. I had a cam sensor error cleaned and error went away. C. Fuel rail make a odd noise like a whining, it can be constant or just go away all together. it seems to make no difference on the knocking.
4.I plan on replacing coils spark plugs and fuel injectors.

    Input is appreciated.

the misfire is causing the knocking. On a Prius it sounds like the engine is self-destructing/a rod is hitting the block. Why did you replace the head gasket? Misfire code? Look for simple things first - if a electrical connector to a coil or to a fuel injector was on loose it could have become disconnected, causing the misfire and rattle. Does the noise happen all the time? Different P then in D or R? Different if accelerating? Sulfer smell is caused by hydrogen sulfide - usually linked to bad catalytic convertor but perhaps exhaust is not hooked up properly? Did something get stuffed down exhaust when you were replacing head gasket? Good luck!

The head gasket was bad for sure but after the replacement it I ended up having a stuck open fuel injector I did not diag this till much later as it was not an issue prior to head gasket replacement. in any case it had a small dent I suspect occurred while taking the head off. when I put it all back it was misfiring badly.
