Shortage of replacement catalytic converters for California Prius models

    In California where OEM grade Toyota made catalytic converters are requited, it might take months to get a replacement.

    requited = required.

    Yes they are backordered on many models of catalytic converters. If you have full coverage insurance, maybe they'll give you a rental car for a few months.......

    for mercury insurance, they cover 50$ a day for 1 month then your on your own, and with it backordered its gonna suck paying for rentals.

    There is, but it was issued only three weeks ago, and it applies only to specific products of one aftermarket supplier. As I pointed out in the thread discussing the executive order, it may take some time for those products to reach the market, now that approval has been granted—but feel free to call Magnaflow and ask!
