That is what they told me in mid-late April. They won't do out of state deals.

That is correct, but I am out of state by only a couple of miles and its the closest Toyota to my house. They are such a high volume dealership that they probably don't need the out of area deals especially with their record low inventory. Based on the crowd going through there yesterday, business wasn't hurting.

If you are looking for similar pricing, I got a price a couple hundred dollars more at the Toyota of Dartmouth in Dartmouth, MA and Prime Toyota Route 2 in Lancaster, MA. They were my backup and leverage to close the deal with Boch.

None of the dealerships in RI, northeastern CT, or southern NH that I would contact would give me a price below $25K before TTL.

The dealer is located in northern California in Fremont. Not sure if the prices will be the same but I can ask if you like, pm for more info.

Oh sorry, It was Toyota of Dartmouth. $27,400 for a limited. You can get their prices easily on the website. Only hassle is flying there and driving back. Looks like $1500 to ship. Probably going to fly one way for $250 to Providence and either uber or train over to the dealership. I think theres a train?

Thanks! I was looking at the same place. Which color are you getting? I was looking at the Wind Chill ... quite the discount just after unlocking. Did you haggle after that? Doc fee was $500? Some places in Massachusetts (that said they were willing to sell to me) also wanted to charge $595 for out of state purchase so maybe ask on that. $27,986 was the price on the Wind Chill after unlocking. Yeah I was figuring just Uber over there. Some dealerships will offer to pick you up too.

I am getting grey. Its off the website now so they must be serious. Put $500 down on credit card. I asked about any additional fees and they said $498 doc fee. No mention of out of state purchase fee. They just said I have to have a plate to drive away since no temp tags in Massachussets. Sounds like they are aware of the process. Other dealers I have called make it sound like its something they would not bother with or even consider. You could try haggling, but I know this price is the best out there. I have called around 30 dealers.

Best to take Uber/Lyft or one way car rental as it’s about 40 miles from the airport.

The train to that area won’t be ready until around 2025. It also would take about three hours as you would have to take the train into Boston and then back out.

Are you saying 2k is the best dealer markdown? Boch and others have offered 2800 this past week and were at 3200 at the end of last month.

Apparently so. Its $5500 from Toyota and around $35,000 MSRP so $29,500-$2000 = around $27500. That is about all they are giving right now with my limited calls. I saw one briefly for $26,572 at Downtown Toyota in Oakland, CA, but I think they are a bunch of game players and there is also some hassle with getting the car out of the state and not paying taxes in California. On cars.com it says there are only 180 prius prime limited cars listed. I figure its about double that in reality, but that isn't much.

Strange enough. I got a quote from Dartmouth last night for $31229 - $5500 - $2070 = $23659. But this morning, for the exact same vehicle, I got a new quote of $31229 - $5500 - $821 = $24908. So they increased the price by over $1200 overnight....

Not sure why, but there is still one XLE showing the $2000 discount on their website. Stock #: N1265
Most are not showing any discount now and the limited has increased as well.

Just called them, they said they only have the $5k toyota discount, and there is no other dealer discount at all.

I kinda figured. I responded to his email kinda snarky and said, "Well send me the specs and I'l buy it, but I don't believe you." I'd called around enough to know what the bottom line is. Did you see the one remaining XLE at Dartmouth with $2,000 off? Maybe you don't like the color though.

Same thing happened to me with the limited ... went up $1200. I was talking with them about the car this morning, so it would've been interesting to see if it went up after that as well. They charge a dealer doc fee of $498 and $229 for a "security coding". The last fee is negotiable. I think some of these more "remote" dealers with inventory on hand are just starting realize how restricted inventory is everywhere else right now.

I'm between going out there and going out to Oregon.

Seen where one dealer in Gladstone charged for a CAT tax. Although its only 0.57% they wanted $500. I was thinking about it, but trying to avoid extra BS fees. One California dealer said they could give me a 3 day moving permit to get the car out of the state and avoid the tax. Not sure how true that is. I'm guessing you would have to have a plate when you crossed into the next state.
