    Hello all,
I have been looking for a Chevy Volt for about 2 years and finally found the one I am willing to buy. A 2019 with only 8300 miles, private seller and for a very good price.
I have enjoyed my 2015 Prius the last 4 years and have only changed oil/filter, trans fluid (last week at 67k), installed a 12v battery and new tires. Also air and cabin air filter. That's it...someone is going to get a very good car (even though it is a salvage title), for a very good price. So I have no complaints with the Prius, I just wanted to be able to drive on battery power and need the 53 miles the volt offers as opposed to the 20 something Prius offers. I believe I can get 70-75% of my total driving now on electric.
It's been fun here and I've learned a lot from some of these Prius experts on the site. I believe the Volt will work out great for me, but if not there are always plenty of Priuses, (Prii?) around if I want to go back.
Good luck to everyone here and may your Gen 3's never bust a head gasket!

You have been most entertaining. I have appreciation for your warped sense of humor. Sort of like "The Far Side" of Prius Chat.

It's such a shame Toyota never made a Prius with that kind of EV mileage. It was on my shortlist as well when I bought the Prius, but the dashboard put me off, I think it is hideous. And now the moment has passed, next car will be full EV.
    Have fun with the car!

i loved my volt 2nd gen BUT ! it is not supported any more by chevy and parts/ authorized/trained volt folks are getting fewer.thats why i got rid of it. I wish chevy had stayed with it but they did not. If you are out in the west coast it probably wont be a prob for awhile. but here in daytona and places like this it may bite you later or at least be a pain.

Best of Luck with the Volt!

    Color me envious!
I don't have much stick time in that type, but the regen paddle makes for nearly TRUE one-pedal driving.

Since I live in a place where nobody knows what an HOV lane is or what one would use such a thing for, I've often thought of getting one myself!

I'm in NC. I have considered the problem of trained people and having to wait. Maybe I'll be one of those who never have a problem, lol. Strangely, I went to Ormond Beach yesterday and picked this one up and drove it home today. It did almost 41 mpg on just the gas engine for those 550 miles....not bad for I95 driving. I can say it's peppier than the Prius, rides better (heavy battery), and has noticeably less cargo space under the hatch. Driver seating comfort about the same...a smidge less headroom (I'm 6'2"), but plenty enough seeing that Prius has a lot.
I think I'll be happy with it.
