That bird was in my flower beds eating bugs yesterday.

Yep, the salesman said the Prius seat was the only car seat that his butt would fit.

Doesn't power mode also result in the system keeping the engine on while coasting for faster response? If that's correct, I think it should decrease MPG.

No, it doesn't. The three modes just remap the throttle, and depending on the generation of the car and some settings, might alter the air conditioning aggressiveness. ECO mode makes it easier to exercise fine control over the throttle opening at low speeds. I use it in EV mode on my Prime to maintain as nearly constant a speed as possible while holding my miles/kWh gauge where I want it. Power mode is handy if you're feeling too lazy to press down farther on the pedal when accelerating.

The main difference I actually notice and care about is that ECO completely deactivates the electric elements in the heater that give supplemental heat while the engine is still warming up. If it's a winter morning and I want the windshield to start clearing right away, I'll cancel ECO mode; the difference is noticeable for that case.

As does having the back seat backs flipped down.

The aerodynamics are just better when that back seats are flipped while the song being listened to or sung is your favorite key and the MID shows Power Mode.

Hope the teasing wasn't too brutal... Sure Power mode can be the best mode for mpg's if it fits the driving style. It just depends on how the foot meets the pedal.
Other modes fit other driving styles. Some of the great things about the prius are the choices if offers the driver.

I feel like I´m getting very good mileage in the highway rather than in city driving when Im driving at normal mode. If I go eco mode it gives me around 5.3l up per 100kms but in the highway I get around 4.3l up per 100kms. :)

Can’t possibly comment lol. But I have achieved 100 plus mpg in traffic on the highway in traffic consistently in power mode. I would say to the doubters in this forum. Look at the real results NOT the theoretical.

Yes I do. Today I did 60 mile trip with 8 miles slow (under 10mph) traffic and 40 miles on motorway. Got 89.4

    Miles per imperial gallon, displayed.

sorry for dogging, but the mostly US brethren here are likely scratching their heads. Too, displayed is anywhere between 5~10 percent “optimistic”, Toyota likes to exaggerate, as much as they can get away with.

    very good no’s nevertheless.
