Are you going to add springs to lower the car?

I’m researching that...I really like the ride quality I have right now. If there’s a setup to lower the car 1 1/2 inches with similar ride quality I’d consider it. Any recommendations?

This is happening.. CDT audio 6-9 coax in the front doors...6.5 2 way coaxial for the rear and a JL 10 inch powered subwoofer.
Soundskins Pro Plus and Second Skin Luxury Liner for doors, front to back floor, keeping things quiet

I am very interested in your opinion of the difference after the Soundskins Pro Plus and Second Skin Luxury Liner are installed.

I'll do that for ya.. but obviously I'm not modding the Prius to maximize it's MPG.My daily driver for the past two years is a lifted 2006 LX470 getting 13 MPG and a built 1996 Land Cruiser that gets 12 MPG...both cost more the $65 to fill up. I really haven't paid attention to the MPG but when it's complete I'll post it. I'll be happy with anything north of 40 considering my options. I still have the trucks but they are weekend cruisers now.

Took your advice and just got a couple of IS300 horns from the junkyard. Tested and work fine.

Gotta say, that gap looks small. You are saying you were able to make the swap without moving the fender at all, just by removing the plastic thing on top?

Yes, I removed the clips that hold the plastic cover. I can’t remember but I may have also removed the clips the secure the top of the bumper which allowed the access

    Yeah.
That explains why the third build was a G3 Prius!

Got to work on the HID retrofit this afternoon.. being a dealer for The Retrofit Source , Morimoto has been my go to brand for some time. The Prius will be getting the D2S projector but I'm installing tha GR-5 D2 S projector I got from Lightwerkz. The reason for the switch was not performance of the projector but the simple fact they carried a bracket that’s designed for the Prius headlights making a simple bolt in application using the GR-5 which has great performance reviews.
I previously purchased two brand new OEM headlights so I popped one of the lights in the oven 250° for 20 minutes.
Most headlights built after 2010 are sealed with Permaseal which is a bitch ..but cracking one section open I was just able to pull the light apart ..I was actually surprised they came apart that easy.

Removed the factory projector ..test fitted the bracket with the new projector ..the bracket did required a slight bit of trimming I JBWelded the bolts to the back of the bracket and installed the projector..
That was the easy part of the retrofit the hard part is removing as much of the permaseal from the housing channel and the edge of the lens ... The process took more than three hours

I also realize there’s a cutout for a light socket which will illuminate the orange side marker. I’m assuming this modification is someplace in forum..... installing the socket and wire It as a turn signal or running light or both ....knowing that TOYOTA is pretty consistent with their harnesses I’m wondering if there’s actually a plug someplace in the harness for that option ..does anybody know?

I have posted in a long time so it’s time for a little update. I decided to have the stereo shop add the backup camera and wire and install the JL powered sub. The sub is a great addition and complements the stock speakers as long as I’m playing music through my phone or so I thought
I recently watched a guy on YouTube install
3 1/2 inch dash speakers and 6x9 front door speakers. So this happened
I installed JL C2 350x in that dash and utilized the factory connector that I removed from the back of the OEM speaker. I could have stopped there because the sound these little speakers pumped out was shocking but I’ve had the CDT Audio 6x9 and the 6.5 sitting on the shelf.
Following the same steps as the video you cut the old speakers out with a razor and cut the back frame with snips. Using long screws you secure the speaker to factory base.. I did purchase speaker wires with connectors that match the OEM connector and I added sound skin inside the doors, Without a doubt a simple and quick mod
The sound is absolutely sick … the midrange clarity and additional bass the new speakers add is exceptional
