LOL! Unless she's with me, which is a lot of the time. I guess I could call an Uber. As a matter of fact, she called me that day about three years ago when she put a 3/8" drill bit through her right rear in the Gen 2. Rather than go right there and put on the donut, I stopped at thee house and grabbed the full-sized spare we used to have there.

Nope. I'd just be buying gas all the time. I'll take the almost free driving. But I do like her Trim 2 with the safety package, though. And the cloth seats. And the knobs and buttons rather than all touch screen. (y)

Yeah she had the later 2017. I have an early one with fewer safety features.

For those looking for a spare tires, often, manufacturers will use the same sizes & bolt patterns for completely different models. We discovered the (brand new from a salvage yard) Chevy Cruze was the same as the Gen 2 volt, which has a pre-drilled hole in the cargo compartment to safely hold down the spare - hardware included.

We only put the spare in when where making a long journey; from SoCal to Montana, Tennessee, Etc. Nothing worse than being out of cell site coverage with no spare.

The cornering confidence alone was worth it. I was scared every time I approached a corner with the stock tires. Especially if it was wet. The dry grip increase was also huge.

Hi.. I'm brand new here, and posting because my wife wants a spare for road trips for her 19 Prius Limited for a road trip she's taking from Nashville to St. Louis. Basically wanting to do the exact same thing as you. I'm a VW guy and know literally nothing about her car.. The tire size on her car is 195/65/15. Will the above wheel and tire part numbers work for her? Let me know if you need additional info.

    Thanks!

You meant Regular Prius, right? Regardless, this parts list from Toyota will be helpful. I used it to guide me.

Part number for wheel is now 42611-47631 (not ending in 630). Here's link to Toyota dealer where you can also check fitment. https://toyotaparts.mcgeorgetoyota.com/oem-parts/toyota-wheel-spare-4261147631

The regular Prius actually has a place for the spare tire. I think it might be filled with foam. the space is large enough for a full size spare tire. I think It is sold with a full sized spare tire in Israel.

The spare will likely raise the cargo floor a bit. The models with a spare have different foam pieces under the cargo mat. If you want to go totally original there is a thread here with a parts list.

I would not be the least bit surprised.

OK. so it looks like I posted this in the wrong forum as we have a regular 2109 Prius Limited.. Does the above info still apply, or should I repost this in the appropriate sub-forum?

    Thanks!

That means if a full sized spare is cheaper it will fit under the cargo area because the area is large enough.

My comments were for your benefit. If the difference in cargo floor height is not a concern you can avoid buying new foam pieces. The spare tire retaining bolt will work too

parts for a 2017 Trim Two should work.

Does anyone know if the donut spare form a 2020 regular Prius will work with a 2021 Prime?

Yes, as long as that 2020 Prius Donut spare meets the requirements outlined in posts #48 and 49 above.

I think ANY 3rd or 4th gen spare will do.

The brochures’ level summary really soft-pedal this; the euphemism they use for “no spare for you” belies the stuck-by-the-roadside reality.

    I'd love to find one of these spares, with the same bolt pattern that we have;
