Green Bean Battery

i have 2005 Prius and was not driving during pandemic, it was in garage more than 4 months without even start once. Initially i thought it is 12v battery issue but now looks like hybrid battery issue. I am from Seattle and checked with local shop as well as dealer, all are asking more $3000 estimate for hybrid battery replacement.

i am not sure if i can check and install module by my self so looking to choose one of the company. lifetime warranty in green bean is looks like tempting one but not sure how much i should trust.. just curious if any one has past experience from those companies.

If you're not going to DIY, then buy a pack from Toyota. Full stop.

 

Between the two you asked about I would go with Green Bean.
Cant beat that warranty, they come to you to install it which is included in the price and the warranty can be transfered when and if you sell the car. Warranty covers reinstallation if the pack goes bad.

They both are using parts from failed packs in an attempt to repair a failed pack. Doing that effectively takes time to test and balance the pack. @TMR-JWAP is a hobbyist that can give time estimates for that. For companies time is money so they tend not to do that. Only Toyota has access to new modules.

Unfortunately the best options are DIY. If you can find a low mileage pack from a wrecked Prius you can use those modules. The newpriusbatteries kit basically gives you a new pack for a lot less than the OEM one from Toyota.

You sell batteries it seems, which cost a lot less than the dealership. Are they equal in quality?

Second, can I have a regular mechanic put it in (Assuming they will work on hybrids)?

 

yes, he sells 'newpriusbatteries.com' $1,600. anyone mechanical can do it if they are thorough and take their time.
price out oem at as many dealers as you are willing to drive to. some are close to that number and a few hundred for labor.
