I want to clean my Prius Alpha Li-ion battery Bus bars and connectors cleaning. Does anyone in this group do cleaning of corrosion of Li-ion battery bus bar and connectors. Want to know the details of opening the Battery covers and cleaning process since its construction is little different than Nimh battery. A video will be very helpful. TIA.

I searched google but no luck. Most of the videos made for Nimh battery but my one is Li-ion battery.

    Do they look the same?
    Are the connections similar?
    Do you have a picture?

Did you get a new battery or just decide to clean the terminals?

Just clean the terminals for preventive maintenance.

They can look pretty nasty but I think most of the time cleaning them makes no difference.
Probably the only time they really need cleaned is when you replace the battery.

Thanks for your answer. But many people suggests to do so to reduce internal resistance and temperature.

Guess so...but I did it at 2000,000 miles and made no difference in any voltage readings. I did get new bus bars when I replaced the traction battery.
Just because the bars look dirty doesn't affect the internal resistance of the bar.
Best on these is to just leave them alone till you get a new traction battery.

    Is there any impact on
Internal resistance and temperature after cleaning?

As long as the copper is clean where it connects to the battery terminals is all that matters.

This copper is rusted as well as bolts and connectors are corroded should not impedes the current flow?

It only matters where the copper touches the battery. The circle that is clean....
