Force AC Compressor on?

    I have a 2014 v that has a (used) (certified) replaced AC compressor. I have went by the book and followed all protocols, down to making sure my gauge set is virgin for the ND-11 compressor oil.
    After setting the compressor, pulling required vacuums, I added the first of refrigerant.
    1/2 can was sucked in and compressor will not kick on,
    I know there is a way to "jump" the HP switch to force the compressor on

    How do I do that???

    There probably would be, if the car had a HP switch. In Gen 3 it's a pressure transducer, rather than a switch, and sends the actual high-side pressure measurement to the A/C amplifier, which decides when to run the compressor.

    Are you referring to the Repair Manual (more info) for the procedure you're following?

    Funny enough on my 2nd gen I accidentally overcharged the system and it tripped the compressor out. Fought a while and could not get it to come back on even after getting everything right. But once I disconnected the 12v battery and reconnected it the system reset and worked fine again. So you might try disconnecting the 12v battery for a little bit.

    What are your system pressures on your gauges? If it's more than 40 psi then that should be enough for the car to allow compressor operation. If it doesn't run then you need a scantool to check for any codes in the HVAC ecu and data that might help you figure out what's going on.
    May also need to check the engine ecu and hybrid/inverter control ecu for problems as well.

    Ahh well thank for the replies. I seen a YT video on how a Gen 2 4 wire pressure switch was jumped to force compressor on and assumed Gen 3 may be able to do the same. I have the eBay version of Techstream and will hook it up this evening to see what it shows. I will report gauge pressures as well. Will also try disconnecting the 12V for a bit. Thanks and I will report my findings here!

    not even close, the inverter is built in to the compressor instead of being part of the inverter (2nd gen) I did a semi rebuild if you want to check my post

    I understand all that was simply asking if the pressure transducer could be jumped to fool the system and make refrigerant flow with compressor.

    should be a code if the compressor doesnt kick on. best get the dmm out.

    Yes.. you can jumper anything, once..

    did you check to see if your ambient temp sensor is working and not missing?

    if you want you can get a kelly controller and force it into running..

    Connector (A) is for the D12 black 6-pin
    The matching connector is a Sumitomo TS-series 6189-1083. This links to the DA1 panel connector then 4 wires to plug A21(A) on "Power Management Control ECU".

    1: "CLK" green to DA1:19 to PMC:19 "CLK"
    2: "DIN" yellow to DA1:20 to PMC:31 "ETI"
    3: "DOUT" red to DA1:21 to PMC:30 "ITE"
    4: "STBI" white to DA1:22 to PMC:20 "STB"
    5: "GND" white-black to DA1:17 to ground point A4
    6: "IG1" violet to DA1:18 to share a 10A fuse in (IG)

    crap I fell asleep at the keyboard again.. ill redo this post if you need tomorrow..
