Hello, so I just bought a 2008 Prius. Everything was working fine until my dealer dropped it off at my house 2 weeks ago. The day after the car wasn’t starting. It might have been because I left the lights on but I don’t recall. Wouldn’t react to the fob, nothing.
I bought a jump box that came with cables and then it would start when I used it, but this morning it would not boot up at all. Sometimes the check engine comes on, sometimes it doesn’t. Dashboard shows no lights other than “AIRBAG” and occasionally the check engine light. I checked battery levels and its at over 50%. I’m told it could be a 12V battery issue, but I just want to make sure before I buy a new one and never needed it.
Anything else that could be the issue?

    Welcome to PriusChat!!

How old is the 12v battery? (is there a date code that you could share with us?)

Indeed it could well be the 12 V battery. To make sure you don't waste money changing a battery that doesn't need it, it could be worthwhile learning how to properly diagnose and replace a bad battery in your car or truck.
