    priuschat forum,
I have a 2018 Prius Hybrid and always use the head up display in the Hybrid
Indicator mode. When the current speed limit(not the speed I am traveling)
is displayed it overrides the entire Hybrid Indicator display. Is there a way
to turn off the current speed limit display.

I'd love to also be able to set/override this option, it would be far more useful!

There must be some way to do this. It's just software so there must be a
    way to "access/change" the program?

You can set it so it does both together. It's explained very clearly NOT!!! in the Owner's Manual.

Alan, what the OP (and myself, for that matter) were asking is to not display the speed limit, and instead keep the Hybrid Indicator on at all times.

Whatever mode you're in when using HUD (as far as I know), as soon as the system reads a speed limit sign, it will override whatever info you have on the left of the HUD.

OK - sorry, I have no idea - mine hasn't got "speed limit" as an option here in Australia.

yes you can turn if off, turn off RSA in settings menu. However, I have a 2021, so Im not sure if any details in settings have changed since 2017 etc.

I think the EU version is different from the newer US version with TSS2.0 which has RSA now. OP is from the US, so RSA can be turned off. My question is, did the 2018 Prius Hybrid already had TSS2.0 with RSA? Prius Prime did not start having the TSS2.0 until the 2021 model. Pre 2020 PP had no RSA.

    I have a 2016 gen4 with RSA, EU spec.

When there is a speed limit sign detected, it will display on the dashboard, and on the HUD - regardless of what info I have selected to show.
Annoyingly, it will keep that information on the HUD for a very long time (or so it seems to me, I need to start counting), thus making it hard to use the HSI through the HUD. It even shows the end-of-speed-limit sign for such a long time, when that is absolutely useless info to have for more than a couple of seconds (at best).

If the OP's car operation is anything like mine, I guess thats what he is asking - how to keep RSA working, displaying on the dashboard... But NOT on the HUD.

    PtPri,
    Thanks for the reply.
You have explained the problem exactly.

I haven't found a place on my 2018 where I can turn off the "RSA".

I have not looked up the 2018 Prius owner's manual, but here is the page from 2021 Prius Prime. RSA can be turned on/off from the setting menu. On 2021 Prius Prime, RSA has to be turned off in order to see the split-screen on the main display. I like to have the instant mpg or miles/kWh displayed, so I had the RSA turned off soon after I purchased the car. But, after trying HUD for a while I also turned off the HUD as well, so it really does not matter to me either way.

    Prius forum,
I found a setting on page 142 of my 2018 Prius Owner's Manual for the speed
limit display. It's under "Meter Customize" and is called "speed limit".
When I click on it I get 3 choices, "Off", "Only Display", "With Caution".

On page 150 it shows a picture of the HUD with the speed limit displayed and
says "The speed limit display settings can be changed (->P. 142).

I selected off but when I drove around the speed limit still showed up on the
    HUD.

    Has anyone tried this?

I didn't find anything mentioning the RSA.

It's like an annoying relative, it won't go away!!! :D:LOL:

I really like the idea of the RSA, but it could really see some improvement!

    (could Carista staff/dev team help?)
