Dynamic Backup Camera (the yellow lines!)

It doesn't have this feature.

I guess not the dynamic. just the standard grid.
Only a few toyotas have the dynamic

 

My 2016 gen4 (luxury, techno pack) has the option for a simple, fixed blue grid, or yellow, dynamic yellow lines that 'move' with the steering.
You opt into it in the Toyota Touch with go screen.

 

Europe and Japan seem to get all the cool stuff. North America gets almost nothing. Including dynamic lines and adaptive headlights. (The headlights being a government problem from what I read.)

 

So, how does the dynamic backup camera work? I usually don't use a backup camera except to check to make sure no one is behind the car lower than the rear window.

 

The lines show you where your car is headed. It's tied into the steering, so the more you turn the wheel, the more the lines curve. It's makes it so easy when you're backing up into a parking space.

 

The guide lines on the screen showing where the car will physically go will curve when turning.

 

Oh, I know what it is now. We have it on our 2014 PathHy. I've never paid any attention to that line. I checked on my 2021 PP Ltd, but nop, it does not have that curved line.

 

I was excited to get the standard lines on the Prime coming from the Gen 3
that I had thought they were "dynamic" enough

The lawsuit-mania in the US has its own practical drawbacks...

 

My wife's 2016 RAV4 Limited (not hybrid) has the bendy lines.

 

That makes the Prius not having them even more awkward...??!

My '13 Prius-v had them. '16 and '19 RAV4 HV have them. I think they come with the Limited trim.

 

Maybe on regular Prius Limited, but not on 2021 Prius Prime Limited.

 

My 2017 prime advanced has lines but not dynamic.
