Low Battery voltage positive Side Code

    Hello Everyone, I recently purchased a 2018 Prius 4 Touring 30,000 miles on the vehicle.

    I scanned the Prius with a scanner and it gave me a low battery voltage positive side code C1241 ABS Code

    Now, Unrelated/Related , I had to jumpstart the car 2 times in the last few weeks. the other day i went to accelerate from a stand still car did nothing for a few tries "no electric motor" sound then decided to go
    now this tell me i need a new battery...but why would it mention "abs" with no abs light also no other warning lights or engine light on? again I'm thinking new battery but a new Prius owner like I said.

    Low battery code and jump starting? Battery related, of course. Replace/recondition your 12V battery and keep it on a trickle charger from now on.

    C1241 is a code detected by the brake/skid ECU, where it sees that the voltage arriving at its own power supply terminal is lower than it should be.

    It doesn't always have to mean a problem with the 12 volt battery, of course. Because the voltage is detected low at the brake ECU, the problem could in theory be anywhere in the wiring or connectors leading to that ECU. That's why the code is specific, to make sure a diagnostician has enough info to consider all the possible causes.

    On the other hand, in cases where you know your 12 volt battery has been low enough to require multiple jump starts, there's no need to wander too far down the maze of other possible causes for the C1241.

    I knew they were related of course but didn't understand the abs part I guess ha ha I'm still learning about this whole deal here if were a regular gasoline engine .. you know check the alternator and get a battery if it was charging lol thank you much !

    Dead or dying 12v battery causes a lot of weird problems. Because you live in Michigan, I would replace it before it starts snowing. The cold weather reduces the capacity of the battery.

    For starters check it’s voltage, with a volt meter, car off.

    Wouldn't hurt to put a charger on that animal.
