New, Used or Refurbished battery replacement?

    After 10yrs and 286,000 miles I think the battery is beginning to go on me. I left it in the FL for a month while on vacation...check engine light is on, won't get the last 2 bars on the charge icon & only getting about 44mpg on highway if I keep it under 65. Never had to replace and could use some advice.

    What did you mean by that?

    NewPriusBatteries offers a new, cylindrical cell format replacement pack, for $1600 USD all-in (in the States), and no core charge.

    Some dealerships will sell you a new Toyota battery for not much more, with a core charge. Installed the price goes up some, but warranty goes from 1 to 3 years. And it seems to me if they install it, there's no quibbling if there's a problem.

    You could use techstream or some other app to test the hybrid battery.
    Have you checked the 12v battery???

    If the hybrid battery is questionable, you could try the Prolong system, which worked great for me.
    Or replacing the whole pack...
