And today I say a Porsche 959 prototype not even a complete car estimated at $2.5M or more. One of twelve used for environmental testing.

    Don't dismiss any concept car.

If you're referring to the renderings that royrose posted, then I really hope they are not fake. That's a sleek looking car.

    ■ Appeared next year! The design of the next-generation Prius is revealed. The power unit is

    ! ?
The new Prius, which is scheduled to undergo a model change next year. For the best car, we have already obtained the final confirmation information of the exterior design.

At the same time, I also got information that "the power unit will basically be the current type of carryover."

In other words, it will continue to be equipped with a hybrid system that combines a 1.8L gasoline engine with a power split mechanism.

This is the final final version of the Prius exterior design, which is scheduled to undergo a full model change in December next year (2022). The front section has a shape that emphasizes aerodynamics. The basic body shape of the 5-door hatchback is the same as before (the image is the expected CG by the best car editorial department)

edit: I can't wait to learn the replacement cost of those daytime bull horn running lights. They do look cool though. ;)
    @Gokhan love that video :ROFLMAO:

So, they went back to the design of the Gen 1 Prius?? I guess the following generation will revert back to the 1980s styling.

Every car has the same basic shape. Shocking! (Ok 2 shapes if you include CUVs/SUVs.)

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I find Gen1, 2, 3, 4 Prius all to be ugly. No one generation is any better than others. And this trend is to continue for Gen5. No big deal. It's not for the looks I picked Prius for my daily driver. ;)

I think the proposed Gen 5 look is pretty good. I can't be the only one. If you disagree, please show an example of a car that you find attractive. (Costing less than $50k, not a 2-door coupe, reasonably aerodynamic.)

Note that the Prius is not reasonably aerodynamic, every generation from 2nd onwards is quite aerodynamic.

The large grille started with Audi so really Lexus was following the VW Auto Group.

Same. I have my eye on the VW Space Vizzion concept shown at the 2019 LA Auto Show. VW said it will come to America.

Curious where you are where there is no charging infrastructure? The Location tag for your user says New England, but I have trouble finding even 50 miles(!) of open space in New England that doesn't have an existing supercharger.

I find this to be a fairly useful fast-loading supercharger map:
    https://supercharge.info/map

I do agree supercharged miles are expensive compared to home charging - but in my experience not so much compared to gas. While my at-home-charged Model Y is a good bit cheaper per mile than my Gen 4 Prius, when I'm on a road trip and supercharging, at least from my last road trip this month, they seem to be about the same price per mile. Granted that comparison may not be totally fair since the Y has a lot more room that the Prius and should get some small bonus percentage for that.
