This was posted on reddit. Sounds exciting. The new Prius will most likely be my next car as my 2010 Prius needs to retire. Enjoy.

Looking forward to it. The improvements in PRIUS always flow down to the other hybrids.

Bit hard to read - but this is the key part:

yikes - many see the Toyota words, "futuristic" - and then cringe. So far, the Pri's 'futuristic' has been met with mixed results, to say the least. oh well, crossing fingers that this time will be the charmer.

but what appeared to be a real head scratcher -
an electric pickup? Like Rivian? Cyber truck? F150 Lightning etc?
    nope

a more powerful than ever gasser. The Tundra never was an MPG champ (some 14mpg blended)

... & sure, turbos will help. again, hope in one hand ...

Oh ... then more killing off of model line ups ... first it was the Prius C ... and the Prius V ... and now killing off the Avalon. As john likes to say, "know your audience".

With the Taurus and Impala gone, it was only a matter of time before the Avalon was cancelled in the US. It wasn't selling in numbers much higher than those two, and it was probably stealing Lexus sales.

I think the philosophy - sell what people buy. Here - the Avalon (called AURION) was dropped a couple of years ago, as very low sales, the V6 Camry was dropped recently, as, I think I read 60-70% of sales were hybrid.

Trucks - the uglier they look, the bigger the engine (mostly diesel) - the more they sell here.

Sedans - Camry is top, but barely makes it into the top 10 sellers now. This is our breakup last month - I cut the RH of the triangle off to fit:
