    Hello,

For the last couple of months, I have been noticing what I can best describe as a knocking coming from underneath driver side seat/floorboard of my 2012 Prius. Basically, if you drew a straight line from the front edge of the drivers seat seat straight down to the floorboard, you'd pinpoint where it is coming from.

I only seem to feel it when I'm braking, and it's intermittent, not every time I brake. It does not seem to impact any part of the functionality of the vehicle, but it has been happening more often over the last couple of weeks so I'm at the point where I will most likely be making an appointment with my closest dealership to take a look. Before I do so, though, I'm wondering if anybody has had this issue and might know what the cause is.

    Thanks for the help!

Have you looked under there at all?

Any recent accidents, or even curb encounters?

    How many miles?

    Any recent brake work?

I don’t have a lift so it’s hard to get a good luck underneath, but from the limited amount I can see, there’s nothing that stands out to me as being wrong.

No accidents or curb encounters of any kind.

It has about 142,000 miles on it, so she’s no spring chicken!
