2013 Inner Tie Rod Left Driver Side Option & Experience

    Finally got around to thinking I was going to install the new OEM outer tie rod end on the left driver side and realized when doing that the inner tie rod end is what was loose with the slop/play.

    Anybody made just the inner tie rod change without changing the whole steering assembly?

    I see my two options appear to be BeckArnley 101-7866 (ebay 4551047040, 4551047050, 4551076010 101-7866 Beck Arnley) and another listing from bestbuyautoparts that doesn't list the make.

    I don't see any option for only the inner on RockAuto and am frustrated slightly that I didn't take one from the last round of Gen3's that were at the local salvage yard since I recall all three there had. I might still check out the one that is there to see how feels and looks... though figured I'd ask to get the topic discussed since I don't see much for posting regarding specifically just changing the inner tie rod part only.

    If it's like any of my other Toyota racks you have a bad rack end it's a ball joint that's attached to the end of your rack You knock back two little tabs and it's righty tighty I think unscrews off and there you go that has the slop in it rarely is it the outer with the ball joint at the wheel it's usually that inner rack end usually most people just change the whole rack because they're getting two new rack ends two outer tie rod ends and the new non-leaking rack all in the price and some of these things are stupid cheap but a rack end is relatively inexpensive $24 or something for something by Moog and then the time to put it on which may take you 55 minutes to 2 hours and some change

    What I see is $27 for your rack in a rack end big round ball joint that's straight that's got a thread sticking out of it your tie rod end screws on the threaded other end of that I could be wrong but that seems about right it's almost similar to Corolla stuff it's an electric rack but almost all the Corolla stuff fits these things it's kind of funny

    Wound up finding a complete assembly for ~$69 out the door from a Prius with ~60K miles reported.

    Thinking will be quicker to replace the inner tie rod and outer tie rod together from that assembly since looks like replacing the whole assembly is a little more work getting to the bolts, removing all the bolts and engine/cover related parts and having to possibly jack the engine.

    This looks like the specs and instructions I was looking for:
