They used to be dominant in Honda Hybrids... Their cylindrical replacement cells were once the preferred replacements packs for those who live near Oregon. This is the first time I've noticed their Prius offerings. Does anyone know what kind of module they use in their "High Capacity" Prius packs with 5 year warranty?

My main gripe about them is the way they welded their cylindrical cells together causes them to explode when discharging during reconditioning. Not sure if they updated their design yet or not?

They still are the go to for Honda, out of the aftermarket options they are likely near the top

but unlike Honda you can buy new OEM Toyota replacement batteries.

The guy(s) that used to hock those cells here got mad and left priuschat if memory serves, would have to see if that Scott the battery guy remembers what happened

They do say something about welding the battery ends to the frame. I was searching for it right now but did not find it anymore, (at least for now). They also mentioned something about only allowing approved cell balancing chargers to keep your warranty.

It is interesting the focus on the battery junction/connection. I read somewhere that Tesla upgrades the battery terminals to Inconel for Ludicrous Speed. Increasing current/Decreasing resistance is important with respect to heat build up.

We do not get 6000 mi/yr which is one requirement for their warranty. It always bugged me that I would essentially void it the first year of use because of this....

    Found it:

"The positive and negative collectors have been redesigned to allow for approximately 50% more weld points between the plates and the collectors. The negative collector is welded to the battery case, rather than just pressure contact. These improvements allow the highest capacity and lowest internal resistance of any hybrid battery cell on the market!"

They were very slow to ship when I bought my new replacement battery from them. Now it's failing after only 18 months. One of the most disappointing products I've ever purchased.
