There is an irony that some women have claimed fear of not being able to have children has been used as an excuse to NOT get a vaccination. There is a more detailed listing here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voluntary_childlessness

Pre-COVID, Source: Americans Are Having Fewer Babies. They Told Us Why. - The New York Times

Americans are having fewer babies. At first, researchers thought the declining fertility rate was because of the recession, but it kept falling even as the economy recovered. Now it has reached a record low for the second consecutive year.

Because the fertility rate subtly shapes many major issues of the day — including immigration, education, housing, the labor supply, the social safety net and support for working families — there’s a lot of concern about why today’s young adults aren’t having as many children. So we asked them.

Wanting more leisure time and personal freedom; not having a partner yet; not being able to afford child-care costs — these were the top reasons young adults gave for not wanting or not being sure they wanted children, according to a new survey conducted by Morning Consult for The New York Times.

seems like only recently i read that people were having larger families. maybe they were referring to the obesity problem.
either way, i suppose it's one solution to climate change

    Third shot in.

Despite the overwrought flap-a-doodle over the "not" Nu....and "DEFINATELY NOT" Xi...variant, I decided that my octogenarian relatives deserved the benefit of the doubt WRT to the Fauchi-Ouchie.

My next sojourn to the home sod will occur just about the time that the super duper booster kicks in.
    Perhaps.

fortunately, the reports are faster spreading, less serious. we'll see.

in the meantime, delta is wreaking havoc on our local hospitals, and it's only a week since thanksgiving

Yuck ... I hadn't checked my county's hospitals in a few days. Week or so ago they were near to finally dropping out of "high" territory to "moderate"; now they're back on their way to "extreme".

Good thing I'm not planning any sickness or accidents.

    from the show-me sate:

"The statewide data shows that, from the end of April to the end of October, jurisdictions with mask mandates experienced an average of 15.8 cases per day for every 100,000 residents compared to 21.7 cases per day for every 100,000 residents in unmasked communities."

Millions of people have received mRNA COVID vaccines since about 2021 March. Some of those people have died (to the best of my knowledge less than 100), and readers may or may not find that causes of those deaths have been adequately attributed to those vaccines, or other causes.

Many more millions of people have not received mRNA (or any other) COVID vaccines since then. Among them (in US or worldwide), the (millions) number of COVID fatalities is rather well well known.

It is no 'stretch' at all to conclude that fatality risks are reduced by ALL COVID vaccines, even the low-octane versions offered by countries I need not mention.

It is more of a stretch to wonder why any do promote inflated vaccine risks. Save you? Get website clicks? Link to other ideological imperatives?

I would never ask @SFO where he learned of this narrow medical study. I'd rather he provide further context and insight. tctMD might help there.

Ok. Next time I give blood I'll have them separate the vaccine. You are somewhere in China, correct?

We all gon na die. Too bad eh? But before than, we can make rational choices to delay the reaper. COVID 2020/2021/202X has added a new twist. Maybe not into the top 10 departure pathways; depends on who and where you are.

This long thread includes information helpful for that delaying, yet I hope it is not your only information source.

This long thread also includes information unhelpful for that delaying, but PriusChat is a big tent. Our big boys and big girls will figure it out for themselves. But it is perhaps the most dramatic expression of 'your mileage may vary' ...

I run almost everyday to stay ahead of the Grime Reaper, but each year he gets a little closer.

A proper full comparison would include the same testing and observations on a matching sample of control subjects, i.e. unvaccinated. How did they respond to these tests? And how many subjects from each set were afflicted with other issues? Please make sure to include columns specifically for severe covid-19, and death.

First read the abstract and then put out your hair-on-fire.

The study reports a heart risk test, "PLUS Cardiac Test," for 566 existing cardiac patients went from 11% to 25% predictive for the next 5 years. Given "Mrna" inverted the ordinary "mRNA," I won't worry about it until confirmation by others and the accuracy of the test is re-evaluated ... over the next 5 years.

Personally, it suggests the mRNA vaccines have a body-wide effect, a good thing. It is likely the test will need recalibration based upon vaccination history.

My kids just got their second shots yesterday;).

My son who has a history of aniphillatic reactions from food allergies was fine :).

I got my booster while we had them there. It was Pfizer so I am now a hybrid given I had Moderna initially .

But we've done our part (y).
