i just bought japanese manufactured 2017 prius A Premium Touring Selection. It doesn't have perforated leather seats as it supposed to, but rather regular un-perforated leather seats. I was wondering if anyone knows if its normal for A Premium Prius to have non perforated leather seats?

I can't remember but it's possible that perforated leather seats are a stand-alone option on the A Premium Touring Selection.

Here's a video of one from 2015 that shows the SofTex seats instead of the perforated leather.

I wasn’t aware that there were two versions of the leather seats.

For Prius cars sold in Japan, the December 2015 and November 2017 editions (both PDF, in Japanese) of Toyota’s table of equipment and specifications by grade show that the A Premium (A プレミアム) model, including the “Touring Selection,” should have seats of genuine leather (本革), shown with perforations in a photo. The photos of a smooth, un-perforated seat material are of the synthetic leather (合成皮革) available on other grades.

On your car, a data plate attached to the center pillar inside the left front door should show the model and trim codes. For an A Premium, “Touring Selection,” the model code should be “DAA-ZVW51-AHXHB-T.” Unless the car was built as a special order with seats of another material, the trim code should begin with “L,” indicating genuine leather. Trim codes that begin with “E” or “F” indicate seats of synthetic leather or fabric, respectively.

If the car was built for sale in Japan, the actual grade should also be listed in Toyota’s Grade Information Search Service (page in Japanese); see my previous posting about this.

In the UK we have the perforated leather seats, which is what I have on my top spec Excel model.

As I understood it, the US have SofTex which is not perforated, so maybe Japanese spec cars can have SofTex as well?

Yeah, Japanese cars have both SofTex and genuine leather options.

Can't log in into that account for some reason. Thanks for answers. It was my bad sorry. The car does indeed has perforated genuine leather seats. I was just judging by low quality pictures from japan

    "Location:
World". Is ambiguous - we assume that's probably the case.

But you won't get accurate response unless you fix that. At least country.

The PRIUS is produced in at least ½ dozen very different specifications - Australia is very different from Nth America, South is different still, Middle East and Japanese aren't anything like the others.
