Considerations Upon Replacing the Engine of a 2010...

    In a few days I will be taking my 2010 in and replacing the engine with a 2012 prius v that has been rebuilt.

    White smoke from the exhaust is what lead me to this conclusion.

    Is there anything I should purchase to make the job go smoothly and is there anything I should clean or replace while the engine is gone?

    Intake manifold, throttle body, all EGR components. First link in my signature has some info, relevant Repair Manual excerpts.

    Some of the links in my signature have Repair Manual excerpts that could help, torque values for example. It's a bit of a mish-mash though.

    One thing, @Ragingfit often puts a very effective anti-seize (Never-Seize?) on bolt threads, BUT continues to use full torque values. It's good practice to reduce values when using anti-seize.

    Looks like some leftover blue engine paint on the engine mount and balancer ... parts I'm guessing may not be aluminum, and maybe subject to rusting, and good candidates for some blasting and painting while the engine is out anyway.

    Wondering if that's genuine Ford blue. I think I have a leftover rattlecan of that myself. On my monitor, the color looks a little light though.
