Headlights

    I have headlight issues with my 2010, The low beam driver side is out, replaced the bulb, still out. Replaced the socket, still no light. Checked and no power to the socket. Passenger side works fine. Is there a fuse I should check?

    Also, the high beams are out. I switched them to low and when I switched them back to high, they went out. The blue dashlight is lit. Are these two issues connected? Thank you.

    The low beams are supplied directly from the integration relay (the long white thing on the inboard side of the fuse box), without any separate fuses. The outputs are connector 1G pin 1 (to the low beam right) and 1G pin 2 (low beam left). Both wires are violet.

    The high beams are fused (H-LP RH HI and H-LP LH HI) and controlled by the DIM relay (assuming you don't have DRLs).

    The prius had a wiring harness issue for the lights if you did not bring in your prius for service for the light harness recall that may be the issue.

    The recall involved installing a harness with increased resistance to lower the voltage to the headlight bulb(s) to keep them from failing prematurely. If the recall wasn't done, it shouldn't cause failure of the relay(s) or fuses that might be going on here.

    FWIW, our 2011 Prius hatchback never got the revised harness. Installed modified H9 bulbs for a few years, then went to HID with blocked squirrel finder cutouts around 2015 and never looked back.

    Maybe the OP has rodent or some other critter problems where the insulation around wiring, or the wiring itself has been compromised?
