    Hello All,

Newbie here. Would like to know any shop or mechanic in the SFV or SCV that can help me fix my car. I parked my car outside for 4 days (it was raining for 3 str8 days) and when I started the car I got the triangle of D with check light next to it. I'm think it's a sensor issue. I went to Frontier Toyota and they did a diagnostic of my car for an hour ($160) but claimed they cannot find the problem. They recommended an additional 5 hours to see if they can pinpoint the issue. My battery is only 7 months old, no weird noises.I told them I'll get a second opinion first.
Hopefully you can point me to the right direction. Thank you and very happy to join PRIUSChat.

They had to have done something for $160 right? Can't say nothing is wrong with the car when you have codes stored, red triangle and check engine light on.

Did they test your 12v battery?

Check your spare tire area and see if it's full of water

Thanks for the quick reply JC. I don't have a reader and that's where I got the codes from them. Paper work says "REC CUST AUTHORIZE ELECTRICAL DIAG, POSSIBLE HV BATT TEMP SENSOR, WIRING, HV BATT ECU OR HV BATT ASSY
P09AC HV BATT TEMP SENSOR A RANGE/PERFORMANCE MALF
P03000 INFO 123 BATT CONTROL SYSTEM MALF"
i'll test my 12v later on and also look at the spare tire area. Thanks for the tip

Checked my 12v and it's good. Spare tire area is dry.

I find it odd you would get errors from a temperature sensor after a rainstorm. I was thinking the area might have allowed leaked water in and caused errors.

So maybe just a coincidence on the errors occurring during a rainstorm.

What's the history on the HV battery? Original? reburbished? self repaired? The dealership wants a few hours to dig into your battery to find the cause of the error
