I literally just bought a 2011 Prius with 200,000 mi on it and an impeccable carfax report. the only owner had taken it to the dealership religiously (every 6-8k mi) for maintenance. i thought it was a good deal. I drive the car home about 100mi and the check hybrid system alert came on and the car went into snail mode. I pulled off, got lunch researched and let it cool down. Limped it home the final 40 mi and plugged in the scan too. P0A93 Inverter Cooling system Performance. Did more research on this site and figured the inverter pump went bad. Schucks in town had 1 so i went and bought it and spent all last night getting it installed. I noticed the coolant in the reservoir had gunked up at the outlet hose only leaving about 1/4 of it open. It was also gunked up at the cap. I cleaned both. I figured this was the issue and the same gunk clogged the pump. I got everything flushed out, including the inverter and hoses. Put back together, and reconnect the batteries. When i go to start it up i get the "christmas tree effect" on the dash and the check hybrid system still on. Only this time the actual motor wont start so i cant bleed the newly filled inverter reservoir. Literally nothing under the hood can be heard turning on. I try and put the car in gear and it immediately says to put back into park. I have done the reset tricks with the 12v battery, set and reset the HV Safety pin with no luck. I have ran 3 different diagnostics tests after each time and i am getting no new codes. Is this because the motor isnt turning over? I bought an updated bluetooth OBD tool so i can use the Dr. Prius tool off amazon but until then i am looking for any suggestions. All fuses are good. I need help. I am beginning to think i just bought a lemon POS.

Try starting it to pull the codes again.

Then reset the codes and then restart.

Should that not work then try erasing the code again, then shut it down and then disconnect the 12V battery for 5 minutes.

Restart after that amount of time has passed and it should start right up.

You mentioned that you removed the HV battery safety disconnect. Are you certain you installed it correctly? There are 3 motions. Insert into the socket, rotate the handle to pull it into the socket fully, slide the handle sideways to activate the contacts that tell the ecu that the disconnect has been installed. Often, step 3 is not performed and the ecu thinks the HV battery is not available.

By "no new codes", do you mean the scan tool is showing you no codes at all, or that it is showing the same code you had before?

when I went to do initial startup after pump replacement I cleared the codes and the dash made a beep sound when I did it. I’ve reset the 12v a bunch of times and tried restarting and get no codes at all and no motor turnover

What are you using to read codes? Sounds like it isn't showing them.

Why is that a problem? Its a 2021 battery that was sitting at 12v, i charged it then did all these restarts

What dash lights are on? The corresponding ECUs have trouble codes. It seems the VGATE is not showing them all.

If you have any of the ABS, VSC, or ((!)) lights, at least those codes can be retrieved by the Tc to CG light blink method, so you can leave the VGATE behind for those and at least get some useful information.

Has the Bluetooth reader you mentioned in #1 arrived yet? Dr. Prius can show you some codes (concerning the engine and the battery), but it too doesn't show all codes.

I've seen some recent posts using an app called Car Scanner that seems to be better for just getting a complete (or more-complete, anyway) list of codes. It might be able to work with the same Bluetooth dongle you've ordered to use with Dr. Prius.

Techstream, of course, is the "ok, I'm tired of struggling with limited scan tools" option.
