I'm considering buying Dr Prius and wanted to know if this app is good to determine the life expectancy left on my 200k 2009 Prius hybrid battery. I want to do a 2500 road trip but wasn't sure if this car will break down on my long road trip.
The Prius has been flawless since New. Only issue was inverter pump, tires, 12volt, oil changes and 1x brake job since New. I consider this car to be my most dependable car ever with very low maintenance.

And let’s also worry when will a 9.0 quake of the San Andreas fault hit L.A.?
No need to worry about it. The HV battery will give you warnings that most people ignore, then it will be $2,000 or less to fix it.
My 2007 with nearly 200k miles has the original battery and I don’t preoccupy myself with it. If ICE runs more or mpg starts falling, I’ll start to focus on it. I occasionally run Dr Prius to check fell voltages and IR. I see no problems. Maybe if you want to do something proactively, get a good quality OBD2 dongle and the free version of Dr Prius.

everyone's experience is different. no one can tell you when your car will break down, for whatever reason.
we all have different risk tolerance. i don't take long road trips in older cars, others have driven cars like yours from florida to alaska and back. it just depends on your comfort level.
there's always your cell phone and triple a. but you do read a horror story every now and then

Dr Prius is a useful tool. Just make certain that the OBD2 adapter that you purchase is known to work well with DR Prius on an Android Tablet or Phone.

Dr Prius works good. You just need to buy a Carista Bluetooth adapter on Amazon for $29.99
