2011 Prius P0A93 Code

    Ok car is fixed. Here were the causes

    1. Main cause was I had an older OBDII reader that wouldn’t allow me to clear the codes from when I did the initial work.

    2. the inverter pump I replaced it with was a bad part from the factory and didn’t have power

    3. when I installed the inverter and plugged in the harness (I believe that communicates to the transmission) the snap I heard wasn’t the plug engaging but rather the tiny plastic clip breaking so the plug wasn’t seated properly so had to replace that

    all codes cleared, had a proper radiator flush done and it runs fine

    Well, I am a bit confused but will still comment.

    1. The OBD tool you posted doesn't seem that old. I never seen one that can read the codes but not clear. But I do not have that specific one. Have one I bought in 2008 and it does everything except it doesn't read factory specific codes.

    2. So do you mean they gave you a pump that is actually not working/defective? Wow, very unfortunate. Hopefully you try to return it and ask for a refund.

    3. I think to me this was the main reason why your car didn't start and showed all those weird symptoms after the inverter pump replacement.

    In short, you correctly diagnosed the issue being the malfunctioning inverter pump but somehow failed to restore it.

    I hear about those bent/broken pins in connectors. It could be very difficult and time consuming to locate it. I am glad the shop was able to figure it out.
