greentec is a reputable company with good products but their prices have increased lately. They offer many options on batteries.

It’s probably only a cell failure not the whole battery. Google prius battery repair in your state would be my suggestion. I drove a mk2 to 147k no issues

 

I’m on my original at nearly 200k but YMMV depending on regularity of use.

 

According to the print on the modules, mine were manufactured in Dec 2021. The gen 4 modules have a slightly different plastic casing compared with Gen 2 modules - look at the vent hole and plastic tab design. Gen 2 vent holes have a relief valve, while gen 4 holes are actually closed! I'm assuming (hoping) chemistry has also improved over the years.

 

It doesn't come as may surprise to me that they use the same modules across all batteries. I pretty much expected that that was the case.

I got a reply from Olathe Toyota telling be a Gen 2 hybrid battery was available and around $1950. What the heck does that mean ? Around. Like heyIll offer $1,600 and you will sell it to me? Very strange. I’ll follow up.
