Wonder why he said the RAV4 Prime gets only 20 miles on a charge?

The Plug-in Premium the article talks about was actually Plug-in Discount for many of us. Certainly, for me, it was cheaper to buy my $35K MSRP PP Ltd than the $25K Corolla compact hatchback which had no cash-back or tax credit. No Premium. And every mile I drive on my PP, I save more. I just did 300 miles trip yesterday, the overall efficiency was 80mpg on my PP.
But this is so true. Not many car buyers do the math. Either buy a cheaper MSRP of $25K Corolla. Or do not care about the price tag, and buy a $45K M3.

Yeah, that must be a typo.

probably the same reason he said an L2 costs $2,000.

Well, the article said, "in a 1970s-vintage-house like mine". I think $2000 for L2 includes some rewiring or sub-panel installation to allow a dedicated circuit for the 240v. If you have to hire an electrician for that, it can easily cost $2000. The estimate for the installation of an L2 EVES with a dedicated 50A 240v circuit at our house is over $10K.
