Right, it was on too, I just forgot to note it.

At least I didn't have to turn the heat on when going back up that path, as was required in several of my previous cars to avoid overheating.

I was just about to ask a similar question. 2008 195k orig owner, that I have just started driving and learning about, and I didn't know seeing green could be a bad thing. I have been wanting to run the Dr. Prius test but I had a problem doing the in-app purchase for that feature.

My experience has been that engine braking charges the "bars" more than the engine running in Park does. If I am running A/C I don't think the bars will get green, but if A/C is off and I am coasting down a long hill it will fill up green, I believe to the very top once or twice. If I start off "the line" with 1-2 blue bars it seems like it is running on ICE only and is lacking torque.

I am thinking my main problem isn't the car but me knowing and observing more than we used to, but I do still need to test the HV battery and get a good baseline of where it is in lifespan.

It could be that he’s protesting against Isidore of Seville who reportedly was the scholar that first introduced spaces between words in the 6th century AD
A bit late to protest it seems.

I appreciate the encouragement! I've never really paid attention to the battery display before. I've noticed circling in a parking lot will take it down a bar, but it recharges, and holds the same charge overnight. I do fret about not driving enough to keep it as happy as it could be. Also, I've never seen purple/red.

Again greatly appreciate the positive words!

No A/C. That's one of the joys of San Francisco. Natural air-conditioning!

Turning on A/C to deplete battery does not mean it will make car cold if the climate control is on a higher temp. Often use it in transition seasons to control humidity.

On one route I travel that is about 34 miles r/t, flat terrain and 30 to 45 mph posted limits, in 40° or higher weather, my battery gets to green often for protracted times and then to high blue and back. I average about 65 mpg on that route with many five minute segments above 80 mpg. A lot of EV mode too.
