    Hi All,

I have a 2007 Prius with 78K miles. Everything works fine except that the MFD isn't bright enough. In the Info panel I've changed the color & contrast a couple of times, and I've turned the display dial all the way up, but neither brightens the light. The functions on the panel all seem to work perfectly

Find a replacement unit at a pick and pull and swap it. Get the part number off the back of your existing unit and get a replacement unit with that exact part number.

Remove mfd following YouTube video methods, note exact part number, search for it on eBay and get it shipped in a couple of days. Put everything back together, then sell old one to a refurbishment company.

    Welcome to PriusChat!!
Many MFDs are not bright enough in direct sun, you may need to put a DIY hood or shade over the MFD to be able to see the screen better.

Someone once sold a 20-30usd plastic sun shield, and it might still be available online.

    FYI : you're moderated until you've posted 5 times.

If you have access to a 3D printer you can make a MFD sun shade for a dollar in filament. No skill required. I’ve made a few and they work great. Plans are open source and free to use for personal use on Thingaverse.com
