I don't use twitter today anyway. It has no structure or topic threads. I twitter follow Musk and Robert Llewellyn. Just Llewellyn gives me more value than Musk.

had the govts gotten out of the way and let people choose for themselves.... it would have been better. we would be back to normal faster , healthier, and not fighting amongst ourselves.

you wanna stay home and worry , fine, do it.

you wanna wear a anti nuke suit when you go shopping , fine wear it.

but don't expect the rest of the world to bow to your paranoia.

    :)

And we would have had a lot more deaths, in the 7 figures range.

On the plus side, Medicare and Social Security would have been put into much better financial shape, thanks to having significantly fewer recipients drawing payments. And it would have helped out the finances of the PBCG and many pension plans too, government and private. And many more working age people could have stepped up to newly opened and higher paid rungs on their career ladders.

That very outdated item was a forecast from early in the pandemic. Various of its forecast parts turned out wrong.

the problem with letting everyone do what they want is the pain and suffering that gets forced on health care workers.
not to mention people doing what they want, then going to work with the vulnerable, and killing them all.
getting my fourth pfizer tomorrow :)

This is why the anti-VAX liars are dangerous: Don’t call them anti-vaxxers – that just further erodes people’s trust | Gary Finnegan | The Guardian

We forgot about measles. And tetanus and diphtheria. And polio. In the race to vaccinate the world against Covid-19, the global drive to suppress some of the biggest killers in history has fallen back.

Almost 12bn doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in less than 18 months – a stunning achievement, even if the global distribution has been uneven. Yet more than 30 million children have missed out on other basic vaccinations during the pandemic, with south-east Asia and the eastern Mediterranean region being the worst hit. This means large numbers of young people will be vulnerable to diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough) and tetanus, as well as measles – a disease that continues to kill tens of thousands of people every year.

Part of the decline in routine vaccination will have been because of clinics closing and staff being diverted, or falling ill themselves – problems that will gradually improve as health services begin returning to normal. But there are also people who haven’t accepted vaccines for themselves or their children when they’ve been offered them.

Given the dangerous dip in vaccination levels, the challenge of building trust in vaccines has now become more important than ever as we enter World Immunization Week. The good news is that we now know a lot about how to increase vaccine uptake, and the pandemic has taught us some important lessons.

I don't get anyone being anti-VAX. It could insert or remove a queue entry, or compute a CRC, in a single instruction. What's not to like?

those that stigmatize people that are mRNA reluctant may not grasp how many people have no issue getting a flu, measles, shingles, polio, chicken pox, smallpox Etc vaccination. Especially since one of the mrna manufacturers was convicted of criminal behavior in the past.

It may very well be that with all of the canceling - there's a sense that you can't hear both sides. Truth is best determined when the other side is not shut out.

I think what you're missing is that you could and still can always make decisions about you and your families health, but it becomes a problem when you seek to justify your own decision by spreading misinformation. If I personally chose to not get vaccinated then I would not be criticizing vaccinations in general because I need others to establish herd immunity for me. I would be promoting vaccination to everyone I knew, I would be fully open about my unvaccinated status and my reasons, and I would double-down on all other safety measures like distancing and masking. We know what to do and how to handle pandemics, and we know how hard it is to get people to comply and work together, and so it is important to not add to the chaos and stick to the methods we have learned to use to combat pandemics. Herd immunity requires herd action, and it requires establishing widespread immunity all at once and not haphazardly.

So are you suing or joining a lawsuit against Pfizer for the current vaccine? Of course not as it has saved and continues to save lives.

The ACLU says the best answer is to identify the lie(s), quote them, and answer with the facts and data. Cite empirical science and point out their failures. Better still, encourage the liars to take their own medicine.

Allow Medicare and Medicaid to negotiate prices like the DoD and other, free countries interested in having healthy citizens.

agreed. price is sometimes an issue. proper oversight, trials and caution can also be an issue as well.

for instance, there is tremendous controversy over the new alzheimer drug in the medical world.

Best to only endure the grief of suing a multinational corporation when there's a high probability of winning.
Pfizer (& much of big pharma) has insulated itself from potential litigation.

Covid vaccine: You can't sue Pfizer or Moderna over side effects

not that anyone should find that to be a red flag

you can't sue any vaccine company. otherwise, there'd be no vaccines.

that's why the feds set up a vaccine court

That is one reason why I use a double-x "vaxx" for vaccine, to avoid confusion with the original VAX.
