Well, the plan was for two days a week. But I seem to be working a third day about every other week. There's just a whole lot to do there!! Still a ton of stuff to learn and the old brain ain't what it used to be, but the guys are great about sharing what they know and reminding me that they were new once, too. :)

I just noticed the shop were you work is now listed as a gasketmasters affiliate
and in another thread I think you mentioned doing 3 or 4 Gen3 head gaskets last week. https://www.gasketmasters.com/
    Good Deal
LIke, I didn't already know where to go for Prius service when on the W coast of FL ;)

Yup. Steady flow of Gen 3 HG replacements. They were doing a couple of them yesterday. I'm not that advanced. Did a cat shield install, a CM replacement, helped gut the interior of an auction car to prepare for sale (that was GROSS), started pressure washing the carpet, seats, etc., helped install a trailer hitch, etc.

Do they do EGR cleaning (cooler, IM, valve)?

So you pull the seats and carpet, power wash, and replace? How do you clean the seats? I assume you don’t pressure wash them, at least not the fronts, because of the airbag.

Yes. We do an exchange since the cleaning is time consuming. We have clean ones on hand, replace yours with an already clean one, and you're on your way while your old part waits to be cleaned.

Most cars don't need the carpet & seats removed. This car was seriously gross. Pressure washing the seats is very rare. These particular ones are probably beyond salvaging. Normally, the detailers make the seats look as good as they can be and they are good at their job. If there is an airbag fault, we would deal with it. I should ask about that. Like I said earlier, I'm new and just learning how things are done. But we do put a surprising (to me) amount of effort into making ratty cars look as good as they can and still keep them affordable.

The shop looks better than the mechanics. Especially this one! :ROFLMAO: But Todd and his wife are much more photogenic. ;)

That's cool! After my daughter's 2010 liftback was totaled last year, I had a deal on another Gen3 with Todd...and had to back out at the very last minute because another vehicle became available in my area ( the Prius C in my signature ). I'm sure Todd wasn't happy about it...but that's life for a car salesman I guess!

BTW - I seem to remember you were in Africa at the time this happened. (y)

He stays pretty calm. At least on the outside. And I'm sure he's used to that sort of thing.

Good thing Toyota is finally starting to make the move into all electric cars.

The article is a little weird...are they really calling hybrids "electric cars"? :ROFLMAO: That's a stretch.

And isn't the vast majority of sales at Tampa hybrids.....hybrids?

Their editor did a lousy job matching the footage to the narrative. It's clear that neither the reporter nor the editor knew their subject. But it's great advertising!!

And yes, we are mostly hybrid or PHEV. We have a Model X and a Model S on the lot now as well as a Ford Focus electric. Also a Prime and a PiP. And a bunch of hybrids of various ages.

Yeah, that is a common occurrence. The segment on the Today's show (?) on the tips on how to conserve gasoline was shown with a reporter in a Mach-E BEV and explained how you should drive a car to save gas, like lightfoot gentle acceleration or no long idling, etc. It went viral on the internet. Yeah, that's one way to conserve gasoline use for sure.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

If you do decide to do that, let me and/or Todd know. I'm sure transportation can be arranged to get you at the airport.

Maybe Todd needs to look at expanding to another city in FL.....
Sounds like he's killing it there in Tampa....and there are some other cities in FL that could use an honest broker in sales/repair.

N.C. may be filling up with 'half-backs" but Florida is still the southernmost New England state in the nation.
    When people flee the northeast?

They often do so in a hybrid or PHEV/BEV. ;)
