Discussion in 'Environmental Discussion' started by tochatihu, Jan 26, 2020.

  1. In the education sector, masks were slowly coming off as boosters were being required for most everyone.

dr. fauci: the us is out of the pandemic phase for now, but we have to be watchful. we could enter again in the fall.

got my fourth shot tuesday, still feeling a little achy and fatigued, a small price to pay.

I've read here several times that people felt 'affected' by vaccinations. That is your immune system making frisky (and probably useful) responses. But I've had Sinovac 3 times here, and never felt nothing. So, feeling a bit unprepared here, pants down, that sort of thing.

I imagine I'd survive the latest virus version if it found me. But getting swept into quarantine (as now done around here) does not at all appeal.

Needing to do local travel, I got 3 PCR 'make you gag swabs' in 5 days. Not pleading for sympathy; it's just how we roll here.

With 2 vacs and a booster, covid finally caught me in early April. I've had colds worse than it.

i've read that your immune response to the vaccine has no relationship to your immune respose to the virus, but they do not understand why.

the round ups in china do not look at all appealing. i think i'd prefer a ron desantis over that

I got the vid before most people knew what it was, as did 3 of my co-workers in an adjacent town.
It probably saved one of my co-worker's life.
He lost his taste and smell following what we individually thought were really nasty flu cases.....and it incentivized him to quit smoking.
(He was a 3-pack a day smoker since early in his teens.)

You're not the only one. ;)

Lots of data out there about the efficacy of the vax with BA.2.x..........

i'd be more concerned about terrorism than covid.

why does the cdc keep saying airplanes are the safest indoor place you can be because of the high quality filtration, but continue to require masking?

I toured there before covid. The biggest problem turned out to be storms bringing flooding. One stop was cancelled for impending (within the next several hours) flash flood risk, another cancelled post-flood for road damage, and several places we had already visited, got flooded. We toured Petra the day after it was hit with flash floods.

This area has a very dense concentration of world history, and terrorism and civil unrest risks weren't high enough to not visit. Gaza had an outbreak while we were there, including missile attacks, but that area wasn't on the itinerary. We were delayed a bit getting through one village due to tensions and protests over the previous day's election results. And we didn't know if we'd get to walk around the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque until the day it did happen.

Overall, I'd say our security risk was lower than the ordinary motor vehicle traffic risk. And traffic risk is lower than covid risk. If this is one of your bucket list items, then just go.

The airplane mask requirement ended on April 18.

Yep, at the advise of our family physician, we got both Pfizer shots early last year. Now, we're done with that vaccine...WAY too many side-effects and negative issues coming to light. Our friend in Texas was an RN and had just received her 3rd dose late last year and had a stroke and died a few weeks after. Was it related? She wasn't even 55 and had NO health issues. Are the thousands of other post-shot incidents related? Seems to be...

    https://justthenews.com/politics-policy/coronavirus/mit-study-finds-covid-vaccines-significantly-associated-jump-emergency

"COVID-19 vaccination was "significantly associated" with a 25% jump in emergency medical services (EMS) for heart problems in 16-39 year-olds in Israel, whose vaccination rate is among the world's highest, according to a peer-reviewed study by MIT researchers.
Published last week in the Nature journal Scientific Reports, the study found no association with COVID infections, however.

"While not establishing causal relationships, the findings raise concerns regarding vaccine-induced undetected severe cardiovascular side-effects and underscore the already established causal relationship between vaccines and myocarditis, a frequent cause of unexpected cardiac arrest in young individuals," the study says.

The research adds more fuel to the legal and grassroots campaigns against compelled vaccination.

An Italian administrative court deemed a vaccine mandate on nursing students unconstitutional, citing nearly 10,000 reported deaths from various COVID vaccines in the European Medicines Agency's EudraVigilance monitoring system, but referred the case to the country's Constitutional Court. (The new MIT study also mentions EudraVigilance.)

    Perceptions are funny -
per 100,000 people over the past 1½ decades "violent" death rate(s) in Chacago are ~20X higher than in Isreal.

I've gotten my 4th shot and had one day of a slight malaise. More naps and work up the next day back to normal:

Selected Adverse Events Reported after COVID-19 Vaccination | CDC

    What You Need to Know
    • COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective and severe reactions after vaccination are rare.
    • CDC recommends everyone ages 5 years and older get vaccinated as soon as possible to protect against COVID-19 and its potentially severe complications.
    • Although mRNA vaccines (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines) are preferred, Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine may be considered in some situations.
    • Millions of people in the United States have received COVID-19 vaccines under the most intense safety monitoring program in U.S. history.
    • CDC, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other federal agencies continue to monitor the safety of COVID-19 vaccines.
    • Adverse events described on this page have been reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS)external icon.
    • VAERS accepts reports of any adverse event following vaccination.

    Poor diet,
    Not enough exercise,
    Excessive alcohol consumption,
    Smoking,
    Poor driving habits
    Use of illegal drugs

would all be more of a threat to an Americans' health than the Covid vaccine, while offering none of the potential benefits.
