Hello. I have a Toyota Prius 2005. My mechanic says my accumulator brake system is failing and is leaking fluid. I have an exclamation mark inside of a triangle sign on my dash the maintenance light is coming on, and it says 50 w h regulated on my screen. With an orange square with a car in it. It says there's a problem with the engine, I'm at loss for words I saw that it all came on at once would you be able to help me or give me some advice. Thank you

Did the dealer give you the diagnostic codes? If not ask for them, the if you post them here maybe someone can offer ideas.

the 50 w hr regenerated (not regulated) is the standard phrasing used on the gen 2 MFD display to show how much power regen had occurred during the previous 5 minute bar graph. The amount may vary due to how much was regenerated. That portion of the post is totally normal for a Gen 2 and nothing to worry about.

The display actually shows "(an icon of a car)=50Wh Regenerated" near the top on the left side.
Then each 5 minute bar graph of mpg has (or may have) those identical car icons at the bottom of the graph to show how much regen occurred during those 5 minutes. Could be a partial car icon, or multiple car icons, depending on the amount of regen.

Is the leak visible can you see brake fluid on the floor in your garage or outside if not are you at around 200,000 mi if so you are right in the area where the brake accumulator and pump start to fail on a lot of gen two cars. You will need somebody in your local area with the device that can actually read the codes and get those codes to the people here or look them up online and you will see what they mean . It would not be uncommon for your ABS accumulator pump to be going out My lights have been on for 2 years just like yours are on now basically Good luck as far as I know that accumulator pump assembly is a real chore to find dealers may tell you it's no longer available and that's quite possible so the car may be possibly unusable to regular people believe it
