Aching noise during driving, and braking

    Heyooo,

    I bought my 2010 prius about 2 years ago. I replaced my sway bar links hoping it would solve this issue but it has not. There is an aching noise coming from the front of my car when i break, and while driving. This all started happening after a slight accident where I hit someones bumper. I went under the car to check the suspension system and everything seems good to go. Any suggestions on how to repair this? I have time to work on it (I have covid) so id like to check every option before begrudgingly taking to a mechanic. Let me know!

    welcome!

    braking could be rusty discs, but if you hear it while driving and not braking, is it constant? only over bumps? certain speed range? ev vs hv or both?

    Can you clarify what an "aching noise" sounds like? Is it perhaps a creaking sound you here when you press the brakes, even when car is not moving? That's common in Gen2, but probably not Gen3.

    It is not dependent on whether its breaking. It doesn't happen when I am cruising but does constantly whenever I am driving in the city and yes going over bumps or turning.

    Its not a creaking sound it definitely sounds like the car is aching as if there is just wear but this is definitely not normal and sounds very bad

    You're gonna have to explain the noise is better. The term aching is exclusive to living things that feel pain, not inanimate machines that make strane noises... Maybe a recording or something? I can't make sense of anything that you're saying other than the literal definition of the word:

    You probably need to raise the car up on a lift so you can see it better.
    A bushing could be cracked. The struts? It could be any of several things.
    It's hard when it's on the ground.
