Hi I recently bought a 2008 Toyota Prius and it ran fine. Until about two weeks ago the red triangle and vac and check engine light come on so I went to autozone and they tested it and it came back with these results : i don’t know how to pull up my pics but the codes were c1241
    C1259
    C1310
And it said anti lock brake system
And it also said where the most likely solution is antilock brake system and replace battery After getting it home I started watching you tube videos on the Prius and I came to the conclusion of maybe I should clean the battery fan so I took it all apart only to find that there was so much dog hair under the seat and in the fan it looked like a few small animals in there !!! So I cleaned it all out vaccumed and blew it out too I unhooked all the battery’s apparently I didn’t get the safety switch in correctly bc then it wouldn’t even do anything when I tried to start it and so I watched a few more videos and decided that I probably didn’t get the safety switch put back in correctly so took it all back apart and think it’s in there correctly.. in between that time period … somehow my fob broke without me knowing it and the front part of my fob the part with the buttons came off and I can’t seem to find it !! I still have the physical key and the back part of my fob with the chrome Toyota emblem on it and the battery still intact… so I am just freaking out not knowing what to do !! Can someone please help me to lead me in the right direction!?!?

    Five things.

    First, welcome!
Second, You should click the "report" button and ask the moderator to move this question to a forum where it'll be seen such as Gen 2 Prius Care, Maintenance and Troubleshooting.
Third, the Autozone code reader didn't talk to all the computers in your Prius. You'll need a Prius literate scanner to query the ECU that prompted those communication errors.
Fourth, if all that you lost was the front cover of the fob with the buttons, you can get another one from Ebay and put that cover and those buttons on your fob. Then get another intact fob and have it programmed at a locksmith shop or a dealership. If you lose the only fob you have, that's a very expensive event.
Fifth, new members are moderated until they have at least five posts, so don't be surprised to see a time lag before your posts appear.

Can you take a pic of what's left of your fob? Does it still work in the car?

Update .. I ended up just getting two replacements … I called a locksmith then I didn’t think he was ever going to show up so I ordered a replacement off of Amazon .. total of 400 bucks !! Now I have a Indio tool and Rand now it is saying that one of the green lines I guess it would be a cell ?? Idk what I’m even doing but anyway it’s saying that one of them is bad so now I’m in another crisis. Don’t know rather to replace the one or if I’m going to have to replace the whole thing!!! I’m just sick about the whole thing … I don’t know anyone personally that works on these cars so I’m just relying on Prius chat and you tube videos for help and I am so grateful for this site !!!I just am not good at navigating through it yet … so please forgive me for such a delayed response!!!

Need to get the rest of the codes you don't have, before making any rash spending decisions.

We know there are more codes because of the C1259 and C1310. Those are the brake ECU telling you it knows there are codes in the hybrid-vehicle control ECU or the battery ECU. It seems you are using a scan tool that doesn't show the codes from those ECUs, which are the ones that will really say what the trouble is or isn't.

The C1241 indicates voltage got low reaching the brake system. That can mean a variety of things, but for starters, if you haven't checked the voltage out of your 12 volt battery, that code gives you a great excuse to do so.
