Holy Shit, game changer. Did you know that 32 bit is called 86? what the shit is that about? Will update with more frustrated rants or celebrations soon. Thanks everyone for your help, either way she goes.

More precisely it is x86 and it's to do with the chip architecture. Just another way of saying the same thing.

Either way, I’ve now successfully connected the mini vci. Thank all you needs for your help in this. Just so happens I fixed all the codes by switching the battery out for a better reconditioned one ( I guess breaking the studs off does make a difference, even w enough room to get the bolts on). So now I’m back to p0420 only. But there’s still something going on w the engine, fuel pump, maf, wiring or something. It hasn’t done it lately but the engine ran like crap on start up before I cleaned the throttle/maf. And the numbers on my Bluetooth car scanner app are fluctuating in a glitchy “loose connection” sort of way.

how can I use the vci to track this problem down without it throwing codes again? It’s working fine but I guess I’ve got to watch some tutorials on how to use techstream.
