So, shortly after installing a new ABS Controller Pump on my 2004 Prius with ~310,000 miles, I got the P2601 ... Coincidence? Swapping that pump still tosses a code once in a while, and reading here has me hopeful that I just did a poor job getting all the air out of the system, but of course there's that one YouTube video with a bunch of other causes, so, I figured I'd ask if anyone has seen some common mistake with the ABS thing that I probably made to screw this up?

Then, for some odd reason, three years after hitting a speed bump a wee hard and the airbag light commoning on immediately thereafter, a state safety inspector finally noticed and informed me that that fails the car. Here I'd just taken a Sharpie to the dash and called it good. The trouble shooting sounds like something I should really look forward to Also, the combo meter finally seems to have failed permanently, so while I have the dash open to add that stupid fifteen cent capacitor, is that a good time to chase down the airbag, or is this a one at a time thing? I was a bit disappointed to pull B1801 since I've been wanting to blame my passenger for being too hard on the seat....

Well, the P2601 usually sets if the ECM doesn't see the engine coolant temperature change when it commands the Coolant Heat Storage pump "on" during a cold start.

If you ready up the car in the morning, do you hear the CHS pump work - before the ICE starts?

This is where having a capable scantool (or app) can really help. I would use bidirectional controls to command the pump on and watch the ECT reading to see if it changes. Could have a bad CHS pump relay.

B1801 is most likely a bad clockspring.

What man said below the clock spring is a good place to be looking but any of the yellow connections under the hood that go to the airbag sensors if one of those was unplugged or not completely plugged back up which is almost impossible that could cause your airbag light to come on when you have your dash off you have the airbag cord unplugged on the passenger side of the car that will set your airbag light off so any of those connections not being well can put the light on a bump could make a connection possibly be like so. But the clock spring is almost a winner for this to happen to because it's very old and the cable in there gets wore out and usually it gets the horn and stuff first but there's a lot of stuff there so any of it can get stretched and snap I guess so I'm assuming you have a horn and all that other stuff that's on the steering columns working just the airbag light on after this bump clock spring is a good shot if nothing else is seen at the yellow connections

Thanks guy, the pump just wasn't bled sufficiently, six or eight topping ups later, it's finally off for good
I'm only just now getting around to pulling the dash, after getting an EEPROM burner. A clock spring in the mail, hopefully she'll be all legal-like in a couple weeks tops. I'm not exactly focused on it.

For what do need an EPROM burner?
