Got a lifetime warranty Hybrid2Go battery installed this morning. Customer service and mobile tech were great, on time, friendly etc) Hooked up Dr, Prius APP as soon as the tech left and went thru the drill.. Cell #2 and #3 look way off from eachother. 1 pic was from this morning, and the other from this evening after driving all over town. Whats your thoughts? im not well versed in all this hybrid tech? No dash lights are on.

Call them up and tell them the pack they installed has a corroded voltage sensor harness and it's giving faulty readings and it's likely going to fry the Hybrid battery ECU and leave you broken down on the side of the word unless they install a pack that's actually functioning correctly.

They'll know what you're talking about. This is one of the most common problems with older rebuilt battery packs. The modules/batteries they rebuilt are probably fine. But they cut corners on taking time to clean corrosion out of the Hybrid Battery ECU and failed to replace the voltage sensor harness with brand new. In the meantime it's safe to drive as long as you have your Dr. Prius app with you to clear the error codes and you don't go too far from home.

Thanks I shared the dr. Prius screenshot with hybrid2go and they advised me to keep driving it and maybe they'll balance out.

Wow. What "customer service" BS. There's an open circuit in the voltage sensing harness. Period. Between the block 2-3 connection and the ecu. It ain't going to "balance itself out".

That's the funniest thing I've ever heard. You're apparently dealing with idiots or fraudsters. That indication you have is a component failure, whether it be the sensing wires or the ecu pins or the ecu itself. There is NO "balancing" in the universe that is going to solve that.

This is one reason why I went to using brand new Toyota wire harnesses for all my builds. Much easier to just pull a new harness out of its bag than to deal with all the hassles of an old, usually corroded original.

I contacted Hybrid2Go this morning and they are going to install a different battery pack tomorrow. Thanks for your help and everyone's responses. Hope this company pans out and I can get some years out of this car and HV battery. Before I chose hybrid2go to do the battery I asked around this forum and they seemed to have a good reputation around here. I may post a review of the company and follow it up with updates as to how the pack is holding up and my mileage for any others that may be considering a $1400 pack replacement with a warranty.

I know right! 18 year old cars shouldn't be worth that much but my wife is driving the Tundra 4x4 to work every day costing us an extra $100 per week so it'll pay for itself quickly $1400 with tax installed. Pricey but not any better options here in Southern California. My first choice was a NEW OEM battery, price from Toyota was only $1800 otd but the closest dealer that had one in stock was a 14 hour Roundtrip drive and I would have swapped it in there parking lot to return the core.

Did you get that warranty in writing ?
Have you actually read ALL of it ??
Your first experience isn't really encouraging.

Straight from there website. I have a basic invoice for the repair.

    Warranty Request Terms

For warranty assistance please call Hybrid2go warranty support at (805) 235-5083
Warranty claims must be supported by diagnostic trouble codes. These codes must be
obtained with a code scanner. If you choose to use an auto repair facility to scan your
codes Hybrid2Go is not responsible and will not reimburse any expenses, fees or charges
related to such a service. Most auto parts stores will provide code scanning services at no
cost. Hybrid2Go recommends you have your codes scanned for free at your local auto
parts retailer. Photos of codes must be provided for warranty requests.

Once you have the trouble codes read by an auto parts store (etc):

    1. Take a picture of the scanned codes and submit photo(s) to Hybrid2Go.
    2. If you have the vehicle diagnosed the following information must be provided
by the repair shop or dealership:
      ● Diagnostic trouble codes for the Hybrid Control ECU
      ● Diagnostic trouble codes for the Engine Control ECU
      ● Diagnostic trouble codes for the Hybrid Battery ECU
The service of scanning vehicles for codes can be obtained for free as described above at
most major auto parts retail stores. Hybrid2Go does not pay for any diagnostic costs or
fees charged to you by any repair facility to scan your vehicle for codes.
Warranty will be made null and void if the battery is removed, a repair is attempted, or
reinstalled by any outside repair facility, licensed contractor, or individual who is not a
    Hybrid2Go employee.

If the battery is found to be defective in workmanship, installation, or material by
Hybrid2Go we will replace the hybrid battery free of charge. Once the vehicle has been
diagnosed with a hybrid battery failure and we review the diagnostic information to
    confirm the failure.

Warranty becomes null and void if the vehicle is totaled in an accident or otherwise
written-off. Fire, flooding or other damaging incidents in which the battery’s
environment is compromised. Vehicle conditions may cause early failure.

Warranty is NOT transferable to any other vehicle except where required by law. This
means the warranty only applies to the purchased battery in the original vehicle. This
warranty becomes null and void if you install the battery in a different vehicle other than
    the original vehicle.

Warranty will be excluded if any of the following items are found:

-Batteries installed in vehicles that are stored for a period of thirty (30) days or more.

-Any removal, tampering, or damage to the hybrid battery.

-Any installations conducted by individuals or businesses that are not Hybrid2Go
    installers.

-Your dead battery is required by us to complete the service.

-Any modification or bypass of vehicle systems not in congruence with manufacturer
    specifications

-There will be no refunds for installed batteries.

-We do not service any vehicles outside of California, Washington, Oregon, and Arizona.

-Improper vehicle maintenance – including engine failure to start or poor engine power
conditions which discharge the hybrid battery due to the engine failing to start or
    properly run.

-If you’re an auto shop the warranty needs to be put in the customers name and not the
Auto shop – failure to do so will void the warranty.

-If you’re a dealership the warranty needs to be put into the name of the buyer upon sale
otherwise the warranty will become void.

That's a fairly standard rate for rebuilt packs with a lifetime warranty...

Batteries installed in vehicles that are stored for a period of thirty (30) days or more.

This, you'll find in the warranty of any company building batteries that they know may be a POS. They're worried about modules with self discharge problems that become "coded" modules due to staying inactive for a bit. Stored means 'not used'. Let it sit in the driveway for 30 days because you broke your leg? Finally heal up, go to start the car and it codes? Warranty void if they can prove it sat for 30 days.

The last "used" battery I built with Gen 2 modules sat on a shelf in my shop for 15 months, waiting to be used in case of crisis. Every module was still 7.5 plus or minus 0.1 volts. No joke. 15 months sitting on a shelf.

As I suspected, a lot of if's and but's. Some reasonable and some not.

I don't see any mention of the length of the warranty.

AND without a printed and signed copy of a warranty document.........if they take down that web site, your "warranty" might die right along with it.

Hybrid2go followed thru and replaced the faulty battery this morning. Once again they were on-time and friendly. The mobile service is super convenient. haven't had the time to take the car anywhere or go thru all the tests on Dr. Prius but i'll report back. Hope there able to make an ok profit at $1299 and stick around for years to come/support there lifetime warranty. Time will tell.

Given their first used battery lasted two days I doubt you will be happy long term. Few are when they buy used. Often the warranty becomes harder and harder to enforce.

Sorry to say it but hope your wrong lol. in my situation this was the best option at the time. I actually sent the tech a screenshot of the bad battery blade voltages about 3 min after he pulled out of my driveway. He never responded but had no other Gen2 batts anyhow. I'll keep this post updated or maybe start a new thread on the battery's reliability or any issues that arise with hybrid 2 go for anyone else considering a "lifetime warranty" battery replacement.

Yep... Lifetime warranty from this operation, as well as Green Bean and others is a pretty reasonable solution / business model... I bet most people move on to brand new pack around the 5th battery swap...
