    hi
my mfd unit does not allways come on with powering up the car (screen stays dark),

when the unit is running everything works well, touch display, buttons ect.

i reset the plugs in back and it was good for a week,

also, every-time the mfd looses power the address book, speed dial etc. gets wiped out,

is like if you pull the power cord on your computer it wipes out your harddrive,

since it is intermittent i don't think its a fuse problem or ?

    any help is appreciated

This is a known issue.... Toyota even extended the warranty to cover cost of fix of it for a while... Use Google search with priuschat in the search terms and you'll find tons of info about how to best deal with it.

Did you ever get this corrected? I have a 2009 similar issues and see that there is a bolt on Power Supply but not sure where to find it. Pulling dash this morning. Ready to send unit in for repair but it is working when it has power?

update: pulled dash and one vent cowling broke, tabs all stayed intact. i don't have the budget approved for that so will be trying for first time baking soda/super glue to fix. My fingers aren't nimble enough to do the board checks so will be sending in to a tech for repair. hopefully it wasn't something external to the MFD.

Was it this one that broke? Much cheaper on Amazon ($25) than a Toyota dealer, where they're around $150+ I think.

Amazon.com: Left Center A/C Dash Air Vent Trim Panel, Air Vent Outlet Panel for Toyota Prius 2004-2009, Car Accessories : Automotive
